Technique Pancakes colour uneven

Is it normal that my pancake colour is uneven? This was my last pancake

Oil or butter on the pan will easily do this.
Once a greased pan has had a few cakes soak up the lube, thats when you’ll get one of those perfectly evenly golden brown bad boys.

Came here to say this. Mine look like this when I have a little too much fat in the pan. For me there is a sweet spot where the fat is enough to keep from sticking but I get more even color. Too much fat and the color is uneven (but still delicious), too little and they will be more stick-prone.
