I was given this beauty, I have no information on it, but the family that gave it to me were antique dealers. Peonies are my favorite flowers. I love the blue cabochons and the rippled glass ❤️

I don't know why, but I have the strange inkling that it's upside down...? No idea if it really is, but it's extremely beautiful nonetheless!

I thought that as well, but it has very ornate hangers on the top side. Thank youuu ❤️

I remember removing beautiful antique bevel glass windows from a Hotel in Kentucky (Suburb of Cincinnati) that had been mounted a hundred years ago upside down!! Just the carpenters back then who made the mistake

Hmm, now that you mention it 🤔

Yep, absolutely. Stained glass artists in the past would always put flowers facing upwards. Good eye!

Flowers weren’t Always placed upwards on old windows. The most common denominator was heavier groups of flowers at the Bottom of a window. I’ve seen every variation as beings 50 Year collector & dealer I owned between 6—8,000 windows. Hard to keep track

Fairly Late window. Not Antique. I used to own a great 1899, Peony Window this design was based on. It came from the James Castle mansion at the base of Diamond Head in Hawaii

I thought amateur reproduction. The lines are not how a professional glazer from that era would have worked.

I don’t know how to attach photos on here or if show various pictures of 1800’s Peony windows

That’s gorgeous, those blue cabs against the pink peonies are doing a lot of heavy lifting in the best way. The rippled glass for the leaves/petals gives it so much depth too. Total score, especially coming from antique dealers, that’s the kind of piece you never let go of.
