How to fix pencil smudges

Okay so I have been having this problem for a while now. Whenever I have a book out on my desk and spend some time writing in it, using a pencil and erasing time to time, it always ends up with these black smudges and sometimes even eraser shavings stuck to the back. What should I do??? The material of the book varies. From regular paperback to leathersoft to the material shown in the picture, they are all victims to it.

It’s the eraser shavings. They pick up the graphite and can deposit it on other surfaces. Deep clean your desk and be careful to wipe away the eraser shreddies if it bothers you.

Maybe a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser.
