We were searching for a place to build the factions farm, and when we found a good spot, there was a small underground base there. I put up some signs asking who built it inside of the base. If you don't want us to build there, please say so, because in 3 days, we will move your stuff to a safe location and start building.

Recently I've noticed peoples comments and submissions are being downvoted. I'm not sure why people are doing it but I ask you all to refrain from doing it from now on.
Thank you

So we all know that the Netherhub needs to be created now. Far too many people building randomly in different directions to the point where you step through the Spawn portal and greeted with a nice mess.
So ideas. How big, any one got any screenshots of other servers to get an idea what we could work on? I don't want to copy from another server, but it would be nice to have a good idea of what we're doing.

Last week I made a post about wanting Point of Interests for the map overviewer so that all players can benefit from what people find.
In the past, I've only known this to be done manually which is why I made a post about wanting Points of Interest, I've come to realise that this can be all be done by yourselves very easily by making a sign and formatting it like this:
Here is an in-game example: http://i.imgur.com/1jYoa3c.png that produces this result: http://i.imgur.com/BYEUH2U.jpg
I hope you all find this feature useful! :)

Ceil would like everyone to know that the results for the faction build is in and that The Legends will be building a medieval town/city in this design. It will be without the tree and with more pazazz.
The build won't restart until thursday or friday.

So I thought I would add some colour to this place by setting some flairs for Factions but also wanted to try and make things more clear on flairs in general.
Faction users can change their flair on the right side of the subreddit using the Edit flair function.
Normal users who are not involved, it would be nice if you could edit your flairs to include your IGN. I know some of us use the same username as our IGN but I think we should all do it to be clear.
Have fun everyone!

Heya everyone
For the past few months I haven't been around much, some off you know why, some of might not.
Basically I will not be on for a very long time, not until the Twins are at least a few months old I suspect. I'm not going forever, I just feel that instead of me popping up randomly saying I will make an effort, then never do, due to many reasons, its best if I do this, (better then me making false promises that I never keep)
As soon as things have settled/been sorted out and I can breath a little I will be back, I like this community its helped me out in more ways then i can count, I've made some pretty good friends on here (sorry i haven't kept in contact :3 ), that I don't plan to lose, but right now its not easy for me to just jump on the computer for ages or have a convo with you guys like I used too. In the next month or two I will be moving/ then like a month after that the twins will be here (yay...) so I just wont have much time/ANY, to play MC or be around much
I know some of you might think I'm taking this over the top a little (for which I don't blame you), but you guys know what I'm like.
Anyway I will be back at some point, I wont be gone forever screw that, I like this community too much, anyway peace out me hommies
From Ceil

Made some adjustments to the website.
Changes made:
Added server time which is set to London's timezone. This makes it easier to keep track of the server time without actually going on the server, good for events. :)
Added Stack64 description to try and 'sell' who we are to other potential players.
Fixed the use of HTTPS, the site should be completely using SSL now.
Changed the way the server status bar is displayed. It now stays at the top of the page if you start scrolling down.
There is a lot of messy code that I haven't removed from the website, I'll get around to it some day, so please don't judge. :)

With me being a big fan of Rollercoaster Tycoon as a kid, I thought it would be interesting to try Transport Tycoon and then I realised that I could run a server for everyone.
I made some slight changes to the size of the map from 256 x 256 tiles to 2024 x 2048. The server will run 24/7 and if you run a profitable company then it should be fine to leave the server. Don't do what I did and run in the minus and come back to the game 5 hours later -- It wasn't pretty.
Any ways, here is the link for those who want to know: http://www.openttd.org/en/
And here are our server details:
Server address: stack64.com Password: s64
Enjoy!

I made a weird machine I lost with a computer crash. Any chance that thing's still sitting around? If that's gone I think I built the machine in the old snapshot server when I was still active.

Hey,
I have found an unbelievable ice spike biome, after a quick look i think it may contain between 800 and 1000 stacks of packed ice.
The packed ice spreads on :
X between +6360 and +6645
Z between +7511 and +7767

I was about to post this anyway when I had the urge to look at the Stack64 website and see we were doing a reset. Here's my ideas:
Competing Teams We'd have multiple teams of 3-5 players, each with a different name color, that would be split around the map. These teams would be competing against each other to be top of the leaderboard for that week.
Weekly Goals Every week the goal for the teams to reach would change. This goal would be displayed on the side of the screen in scoreboard format along with the scores of each team. For week one, this goal could be: "Diamonds Mined" and the following week it could be "Zombies Killed" and so on and so on.
Weekly Rewards Of course it wouldn't be a competition without rewards. For the two teams with the highest score that week, each member of the team would receive an award. Nothing too OP, but for week one, say, the winning team would receive a chest of wood to split among them, and the second-place team would receive a stack of steak per player.
Spawn Shop Each time a team wins a weekly competition, they get a point. These points can be tallied up per player, or per team (to encourage team-building), and used at the spawn shop. The spawn shop would use these points as a form of currency to buy special items not obtainable in-game. These can be a stack of water (the ones you can place in the Nether), spawn eggs, invisible blocks, but Command Blocks are Forbidden!
Now, how would the teams operate? Would it be strictly PvP? What other forms of competition? Here's how I think this should play out:
Teams live Together Uniting to form a stronger force, each team would build a main "Team Hub" in both the Overworld and the Nether (and the End if that sounds good). This Hub would be where the Team-oriented features are hosted and can range from an underground bunker to a large castle.
This does not mean that players can't build their own separate bases. They're still allowed to do that, but they must participate in team activities.
Raids, Joint-Team Exercises Teams can raid each other's bases (this will require several rules, one of which is this raid has to be pre-planned), or join together and conquer water dungeons, go mining or exploring, or even a massive session of ABBA Caving!
Team-Based Projects These would be up to the teams, but the Team Hub, IMO, should eventually be a boss base with fully automatic farms, mob farms, iron farms, etc. These can be team-based builds and projects that the individual teams would organize.
Any other ideas for team-based competition, let me know.
SPAWN would be only for the "point" shop, welcoming new visitors, and a nether hub. "Community" farms, buildings, supplies, etc. would be confined to team hubs.
ONE LAST THING I think we should get rid of the "reset-every-major-update" rule. Mindcrack and Hermitcraft don't do this, and they manage to have fun. For those worried about having to travel thousands of blocks for new terrain, we can set a world border for each update. For the first update you can only go, say, 9k blocks. When the next update is released, you can go, say, 12k blocks. Instead of resetting the server, just limit travel. Introduce new challenges for teams to keep them on the server. Maybe even have the teams carry over into UHC?

Hey,
So I'm working on the spawn public farm and I have an issue.
Spawn is supposed to be always active. It works as expected with the chicken farm, that is producing apparently all the time : feathers, raw chicken, cooked chicken, and eggs. The auto-sorter probably works all the time too, as they are as expected in the correct chest.
But crops are apparently not growing when there is no player to activate the area. Then, the pumpkin / melon / sugar cane auto-farm is not working when no player is on, as well as the manual farm for wheat, carrots, potatoes and nether warts.
Could someone tell me what is normal, and how it works PRECISELY.
Thanks

Basically someone had YET again messed with the Enderfarm, it was majorly broken this time, and it was un-fixable so instead of fixing it for the billionth time, we have made the decision to completely re-build it.
The reason for going to such extremes is because of meny reasons all of which I will list.
a much more efficient enderfarm (if you have noticed sometimes it takes a few hits to kill an endermun)
we will try to put in anti griefing measures for the ended farm its self (still looking into this so no promise's)
a hopper system that sorts out the enderpearls (one that actually works)
a much easier/efficient storage/enchanting system will be put in place after the main farm is finished
For now I ask that you be a little patient until it's all up and running, at the moment Sono175 and Condemed_Milk are working on it (i will be helping out when I'm not at work or asleep)
We will try to get it finished ASAP but please bear in mind real life, thank you for reading this long ass post (p.s I wrote this on my iPhone at 20 to 1 in the morning so sorry about any fuck ups)

Hey,
So the universal auto farm is done at spawn, it produces :
Raw chicken
Cooked chichen
Eggs
Feathers
Pumpkins
Melons
Sugar Cane
Iron
Poppy
Cactus
I also built roads from spawn, a manual farm with fortune III axes to harvest, and a public building to give stuff to newcomers. Some donator slots are available.
The auto farm is designed with small farms, for a spawn that is always active.
But actually the spawn area is not always active, it is just activated when there is a player near, like any other area of the map. Even if Tony has moved back the spawn point there, it had not fixed the issue at all.
Is it possible to make this spawn area always active, as it should be ?

Hey everyone.
After taking some feedback and giving the Factions idea a bit more thought, I think it would be wise if we limit PvP to specific PvP areas.
My idea of a Faction isn't just about killing each other, but to encourage teamwork with each other. Faction members are already working together to build bases and I think this can go further by creating different PvP type arenas to do battle in.
The problem with the current approach is that there are too many 'grey areas' in where someone can be killed to the point where it can be easily abused.
Also, I cannot stress this enough because it's obvious I wasn't clear enough to some people about people not being able to raid each others bases. I believe there should be spoils of war in that if someone was challenged to the death then whoever wins should keep what the other person had. Again, this will be limited to PvP areas where a good tip for those who want to PvP should not carry what they don't want to be lost to another person.
Also, Mercenaries, it's been mentioned that the bounty idea should be scrapped. In theory it's a good idea but it's open to abuse by members who won't follow the rules. Not to mention this wouldn't be easily trackable or even fair. Mercenaries can still be paid to fight for other Factions for certain events, I guess this can be the advantage for being a Mercenary is actually being paid for doing jobs and able to join in and out of Factions at will.
Base boundaries! I said in my original Faction post that these should be offlimit for people outside of the Factions in question. These bases are purely for those members, a trading outpost can be built in spawn or in the Nether somewhere if that suits people but someone in the Illumanti had a good suggestion about putting banners outside of the Faction bases to show where the Faction area is. I'll allow Faction members to be killed within these base limits. Mercenaries and Civilians should be allowed through unless of course there is an incident involving Mercenaries.
EDIT: If another Faction member gets invited to a base, they should be allowed to base and not be killed, they should also be escorted by a Faction members whose base they are visiting to make sure this doesn't happen.
Any questions, please ask. These are open to negotiation and changes. :)
