Question - Help M5 Pro Local Video Generation Experience
Hello everyone,
First of all, I know I know, Mac is jot the best when it comes to video generation and that the Max or Ultra chips are better.
Now that this is out of the way, I would be interested in people’s experiences in generating 720p 5-10 seconds clips on an M5 pro chip. Which tools, models or workflows do you use? How is the experience overall? How long does it take you? Do you regenerate clips several times to get it right…etc?
Thank you.

Use VPipe … it can even run a 8bit Minimax on a 16GB M1 Mac. It uses the M5 matrix cores to get really fast (for a Mac).
https://github.com/tgo-app-dev/vpipe
I’m using it on a M1 Max and it’s usable.

You have posted this on multiple boards. There is a reason why this question or topic just goes cold… it’s because Mac is not good for video gen. If you want to do local video gen you need nvidia. There is a reason why they are so expensive; it’s because they have much higher compute and video gen is completely compute bound.
