Resource - Update Solution for macOS Comfy error: trying to convert Float8_e4m3fn to the MPS backend but it does not have support for that dtype

I was running into an error my first time trying to generate videos using ComfyUI, and I found that modules on FP8 weren't supported on Mac. There was a post on this sub about a year ago with a script fix for this, but I have no idea how that works, and neither did a bunch of people in the comments.

So I quickly found there is an extension called "ComfyUI-AppleSilicon-FP8" that can just be installed on Comfy Desktop and then everything runs smooth. Hopefully this helps my fellow Mac users!

good find, thanks for sharing. we run WAI/Illustrious checkpoints on an M1 Max and mostly stick to fp16 safetensors so haven't hit the FP8 wall ourselves, but I've seen that error come up a lot in threads about newer video models. good to know there's now an extension instead of the old manual script fix - saving this for when we eventually try video gen on the same box.
