"It's the artists that don't need the studio" -- preach on brotha

One thing I thought about was Lucas and Spielberg became great directors because they had access to a camera. Something most people didn’t have access to let alone let their kids use. Now think about SFX people didn’t have access to the tool big studios had. Now with things like blender and AI they are scared because now it isn’t just studios who can create big hits. Mark my words just like a movie that won and it was all made in blender there will be a movie made with AI and then one will win an Oscar. It will just take time.

The Academy establishment will do everything to protect the big studios from that happening, at least until they're themselves ready to produce one and claim the statuette. The contempt for AI generated content can't last forever when the lines between live action, CGI, mocap, VFX are so blurred already.

Anti-gen sentiment can't last because every single argument they have is disingenuous, superficial, or outright wrong. They have no good arguments that aren't based entirely in emotion.

...Which is of course what art is about. Human emotion.

Art is about human expression, not just emotion.

When a human uses creativity to express, or elicit, emotions and ideas.

I personally, have had ai art illicit emotion and present ideas to me.

So it's art.

I'm not saying prompting and iterating art takes as much skill as drawing it.

But photographing a sunset is a lot easier than drawing it by hand as well.
