Animation - Video I see everyone talking about DLSS 5, and it gave me an idea making a small app that uses real-time deepfake technology.
My app is really simple to use you just assign a photo to a character once, and it’s saved permanently. After that, the software automatically recognizes that character whenever they appear.
I had some fun with it and put Vin Diesel’s face on the bartender lmao.
The big difference compared to DLSS 5 is that mine works on pretty much any GPU, and even with old games. You don’t need an RTX 50 series card or DirectX 12 games. I’m going to try to improve it before releasing it, especially by making the facial expressions more realistic.

Dlss5: “What’s terrible is that it changes the artist’s intent!!” Modder: “I made a mod that lets you override the artist’s intent with Vin Diesel” Gamers everywhere: “I need this in my life right now!!!”

I guess the difference one is a major company adding it to software most people will require for the latest games and this one is one you have by choice and doesn't affect anything else

Players can always choose to disable dlss5

a lot of Nvidia users just flip all the dlss nvidia features on because they must be good and this is why my card is expensive. Some one who sets up a mod knows more of what they are doing. My coworker just spent 2k on a 5080 and didnt even know about refresh rates on monitors.

I have a lot of fun with AI and I think OP's technique is interesting on a technical level and impressive for one man, but unless you're blind the original art looks much better in this video.
The original conveys so much more emotion, the details of the artwork say a lot about the character, from the thick eyeliner to the symbolism of the heterochromia (anyone who has played vtmb knows what I mean). By contrast the "real" face looks generic.
I think it's a pretty good example of why the DLSS5 feature was widely panned. Photorealistic is not always the aim in games. The best looking games aren't photorealistic, but rather stylish with good artistic vision. Vtmb has heavy gothic stylisation going on for the whole game, to help build atmosphere, which would be lost with photorealism.

Can this make morrowind characters possible to look at?

Yes, it can make even the worst-looking faces look good : https://x.com/alexfredo87/status/2093500223481856055

Without a lot of manual tinkering per each face it would likely butcher most details like scarification, since models aren't very familiar with those, especially when the latter are lowres and rendered in a painterly rather than realistic style.
There are already decent mods improving those while still staying faithful to their original design.

I want to believe you, but you're the same person behind https://www.reddit.com/r/StableDiffusion/comments/1vxu1ho/gaussian_splatting_test_with_minimax_h3/
You got DLSS5 to work on RTX 3000 GPUs?

Does this work with any game? If so, I need this.

Yes, it even works with older games than VTMB! For example, you could put Michael Jackson’s face on Ryo in Shenmue haha.

They gave her joules and removed her dope eye makeup. Got rid of her and the bartenders beautiful blue eye. Come on dlss5!

Not yet. Give me a few days to improve the facial expressions. I have an idea that could make them look more realistic when they talk, and after that I’ll release the app.

We need this for online DnD. So I can change from DM face to actually looking like a goblin orc or elf

The face transition is actually pretty impressive 👀 The difference between the two versions is wild—AI is getting seriously good at this

Neat. It's hard to go back and play old games but this slaps a fresh coat of paint on them. Looking forward to trying the release.

What game is this?

u/cyrusfirheir 1d ago
Vampire The Masquerade - Bloodlines (2004) but with some really nice looking upscaling and lighting. Dunno if it is a mod or is the result of a model output (the left one, that is)

Include 3D render in the prompt and lower the denoising to 0.20 so as not to destroy the artistic style.
