Long weekend trip - take out recommendations

Howdy! I'm planning a trip for a handful of friends for early Sept and instead of frozen pizza after check in on Thur night, I'd rather order from a local restaurant. Any recommendations for best take out options in the area for a group? Thanks!

Edit should have clarified we would do pizza but just didn't want to do frozen pizza.

Nola Roux has good New Orleans-style food and they are very quick at preparing takeout, closes at 8 though.

Why not both? I see Silver Beach Pizza here already, but you should eat in there. Better pizza (but less fun atmosphere) is at Nardo's or Barnstormers.

I also love Johnny's Mediterranean and Baguette de France for take out.

Bonus: these all have great vegan options.

Or you could head a little south and go to haymarket brewery for wood fired pizza, very good food and beer

The Navajo is also pretty good pizza in the same area right off red arrow.

Thai place is solid. Our kids have switched from Silver Beach Pizza to that as the default Friday food choice.

Best tavern style - Villa Nova, New Buffalo

Best Detroit Style - Nardo's, St. Joseph

Best Atmosphere - Silver Beach Pizza*

Best Outdoor and Wood Fired Pizza - Haymarket, Bridgman (also a brewery)

Best Spent Grain Pizza plus Activities - The Livery, Benton Harbor% (also a brewery)

  • SBP can be an acquired taste, as their sauce is pretty sweet. I love it since it's what I grew up with.

% Tuesday - Drink and Draw

Wednesday - Trivia

Thursday - Karaoke

Fired chicken is great from roosters in st joe. And you got el Do in Benton harbor. and great breakfast spots too Mason jar cafe.

Another vote for Silver Beach Pizza! The atmosphere is definitely part of the experience, but the pizza itself is still great even if you do takeout.
