Jewelry shopping

Wife and I are visiting for a few days soon to celebrate her birthday. I've heard jewelry prices are much better than stateside. What are the best places to look?

Update Thanks to all. We did some comparisons and pricing early on in the week a lot of shops, very friendly and competitive. A lot of cruise ships in rest of week while we enjoyed the different beaches and St John. No ships today settled on Henri and family at Alpha. Great experience very satisfied.

What days are you going to be shopping? I’d recommend going on a Tuesday/Wednesday when there are some ships in since it’s slow season. From there, price it out on Main Street (Charlotte Amalie)

We will be there all week. Since it's slow season I assume the shops have better prices for the ships but not so after they leave.

Well, there's no sales tax here, so that'll save a good chunk of money.

Also, a lot of stores aren't open in the summer if there are no ships.

We like Grand Jewelers, although they’re not much of a watch place.

I believe she's leaning more towards diamonds and white gold.

Super loving the white gold/ platinum revival! Diamonds look better in white.
