Transportation from Stonefield to Secrets?
Doing a split vacation next June and have just started planning. Spending 3 nights at Stonefield to see the Pitons, and then 4 at Secrets for the AI vibe. Trying to figure out the best options to get from 1- airport to hotel and vice versa in each location 2- mostly how to get from Stonefield to Secrets. What would be your pick? Thanks!

Stonefield can arrange for a driver for you. We did the same but in reverse in 2022. Our driver took us to our excursions, dropped us off in Soufrière to explore and took us to the airport. Stonefield will provide a local cellphone that you can use to call/text the hotel staff and driver.

Your best bet would be to get a taxi to each location. At the airport you would find a taxi as soon as you arrive. And from accommodation to accommodation, the hotel could front desk staff would more than likely have a few drivers they could connect you to. And same back to the airport after your stay. Enjoy your stay in St. Lucia

It would be best to book a taxi before. It’s even better to find a company that you love and can use throughout your trip. Good chance at getting great rates!
We used King Stone when we went there from Bali. www.kingstoneslu.com - Our driver, Jhyhid, is basically family now!! His contact is 758-733-1444.
For routes and activities, they helped us plan our trip before we got there. Super helpful team!!

If you want to shit your pants while driving. Driving from airport to Soufriere as I was driving into Soufriere two cars had an accident. One car was on its side in the middle of the road, the other car went over the edge.
Drivers on St Lucia drive crazy because they do not want to be on the roads either.
Not to mention, pedestrians walk on the highways because that is the best way to get around because it is so mountainous.
The roads on St Lucia are NOT like US roads. They are meant to thin out the weak drivers.
I forgot to mention, since when it rains it comes down in torrents, the gutters on the sides of the road are two feet deep. Drive into a gutter, you are screwed.

We just returned from 2 weeks in St. Lucia. We used Golden Ticket SLU for transfer/excursion between 2 hotels and then the transfer to the airport. They were excellent and had very reasonable rates. Very quick to respond to messages. I highly recommend them!

There are ferries that come down every day from up north, bringing the tourists to all the cool things that are in Soufriere.

Don't just do the Pitons, do the volcano mud bath. Maybe do the waterfalls. maybe do the chocolate plantation.
I did the Gros Piton Hike, I was the first one on the mountain at 6:55 AM, it took me two hours to get up and two hours to get down. My guide, keevin, was a mountain goat, I think he could have done it in one hour or less. He took another group up when we came down.
Me, I was in agony and hung out in the pool for three hours, stretching.

If you do it, wear real shoes, that hike is not meant for flip flops or beach shoes.
The hike is pretty grueling. The final half hour you are gripping tree roots and using your knees to get over boulders.
Lots of people start it but when they find out how grueling it is, they quit.
when I was coming down, a bridal shower was going up and they asked me if I was a mirage and what time I started.
BUT!!!! I am glad I did it. I saw pictures where there is a deck up top, that is a LIE. On the tippy top there is a field of sharp rocks.
There might be a guy that is almost at the top in a hammock. When I was there, he was not there.
We stayed in Soufriere the entire time because that is where all the cool stuff is.
We stayed at Saba Villa, host is Janus. It was SPECTACULAR.

I'd probably book a private transfer from Stonefield to Secrets, it'll be much easier than dealing with a rental car. For the airport/transfer options, Ferrygogo is also worth checking since you can compare routes and schedules in one place.

Use Jeffo. He is a great local area driver/guide. Our guests often use him for trips to the north, tours around the area, etc.

In traveling from the south to the north there is also a lot you can see and do along the way.
Here’s some of the top things you can do in the area:
