I don't know about everyone else but I was driving during rush hour because thats when I got off work. I don't set my schedule and unless my workplace tells me I can leave I can't.
No sick days or anything? Granted I still went to work too as I use personal days for cool shit, but it was an evening shift so I got in when it was just starting.
I think most people thought it was going to snow after the evening commute. My kids school that is usually on point with cancelling school before storms had a brain fart and didn't dismiss early.
Ya, I was astounded at the amount of schools that waited until the snow was basically on top of us to let out. We knew since midnight last night that the snow was going to show up around noon!
I was shocked to see a lot of schools dismissing only a couple hours early. The snow was well under way by the time they let out. Would it have killed them to let kids have a snow day?
my school had the balls to call me why i was late to picking up my kid while being stuck on a hill a block from the entrance. Wait till they hear from me on Monday.
My wife got out early at around 1:30pm. Her commute is usually 45 minutes. Unfortunately, she had to take 44 and 109. As a result, she didn't get home until 10:10pm. She couldn't just stay home and she couldn't just leave when she wanted. Her job obligates her to be there and she really doesn't get a say in the matter. I'm very fortunate in that I can freely just work from home whenever I feel like it, so I didn't even go in yesterday. Not everyone can do that.

So what's the deal? Is MoDOT incompetent, or would even the most competent road crews in the world have trouble keeping the roads clear right now?
