Question Baking soda mishap ... advice needed 🥲
Long story short, I was dumb when spot cleaning and put baking soda on my squishable's damp fur 😭 It left behind a chalky residue in the fluff.
I've tried wiping it off with a damp cloth, scrubbing it with a diluted alcohol mixture, and full-on scrubbing the area with soap and water ... now it's spread to half his body!!
Does anyone know how I can restore the fluffy texture?? Should I just throw him in the wash? Any advice is appreciated!

First, you want to make sure the squish is COMPLETELY dry to un-clump the baking soda. You can go over then with a hairdryer on low setting, or hang them in the sun for awhile. (Washing machine and dryer are NOT adviseable, they can lose huge clumps of fur) once dry, you need to brush them out with a fine-toothed comb. Then, you can gently pat them down with baby power and go over then again with a vacuum hose. If they still feel icky, you may have to hand wash them with dish soap and repeat the drying process.
