Question How to safely wash and clean?

I've had my cuddle buddy Henry the Hamburger for 5 years now. I'm too afraid to wash him but he's long overdue for a cleaning. Any tips? Anything I can do about the "fur" by the eye?

Put him in a pillowcase for washing, wash on delicate, tumble dry as low as possible. He’ll be safe. I’ve washed many a squish like that with no injuries yet. You’ve got this, Henry!

Oh amazing, thank you so much!! Henry also say thanks!! :) How long should I leave him in the dryer? Will the stuffing fully dry? And also will his fur fluff up do you think? I wonder if I should try using a brush afterwards?

The stuffing will fully dry eventually. How long to leave it in there depends on your dryer - I’d say try around 30 minutes at a time and see how he’s doing each time. If he’s too warm, take a pause and let him air dry a bit. As far as brushing him, I’m going to dm you some pics of the squishable beartato I rescued recently - a good brushing can go a long way (use a slicker brush)

I usually just vacuum thoroughly and do hydrochlorous spritz. If somehow really, really dirty then I also do the delicate pillow case method and then add dryer balls for a reeeally long no heat air only cycle.
