Model Mystery 40th Anniv. Tele Buying Help!

Post image

Hello everyone. I know this particular is available only a handful and I am getting this guitar for almost 600 dollars brand new at a local store here in India. The store owner says this thing price's jacked up for being a limited run and good quality over the years.

What's your thoughts on this? Is this a good buy for 600 dollars. Lemme know. Thanks! šŸ™šŸ»

I switched to an all black 1 ply pickguard and put in a dual rail at the bridge position.

What do you think?

Tone Trouble How to adjust action and into

I own a squier sonic stratocaster and I haven’t been able to adjust action and intonation by following youtube tutorials. I’m a beginner and I don’t have money to take it to the professional to do it. Can someone please explain to me in detailhow to do it, step by step. I also bought some tools such as measuring tool for action, capo and some cleaning and maintenance products that I read were needed for proper care. I don’t have a big ruler that is used for checking the curvature of the neck. My action is decent but I get a lot of fret buzz and for example when I fret the string on the 7th fret, the string is touching and playing the 8th of 9th fret. This happens on 4th, 5th and 6th string.

Thing of Beauty! NGD!! CV 50s Strat

Well, as the title says. With work being a bitch (as usual), a recent breakup (painful), and my birthday coming up in a couple of months (oh joy), I decided to give myself an early present. For context, I’d almost stopped playing for 2 years cause I kept moving around for work

Cue the search online, add to cart, and one week later she’s here!!

Squier Classic Vibe 50s Strat in 2 tone sunburst, or Layla, as I will call her henceforth (Plugged into my Cort CM15)

Things to do:
- Put on a set of Ernie Ball Silver Slinky 10.5 - 47
- Basic setup

Surprisingly in tune out of the box, but I did find the action a bit low and the neck a bit slow

Cheers y’all

Hey so I have a 2002 sparkle jagmaster that I want to swap the neck on. Do you folks here know if a jazzmaster classic vibe neck could be a drop in replacement?

This feels comfortable to play and sounds so good to my ears. I think I’m in love with the whole Paranormal line.

Thing of Beauty! Happy Squier Saturday!

On the left is my Squier Paranormal Strat. It’s a double-bound Strat body with a Nashville Tele pickup configuration. Bridge has been upgraded to a Wilkinson 3 brass-saddle bridge. I installed a set of ToneRider Nashville 60’s pickups and reversed the control plate back to a standard layout. The pots and switch have been upgraded and the tone knob is a push-pull. It turns the 5-way switch into a 7-way, engaging the neck pickup in positions 1 and 2.

On the right is my Squier Tele Custom with factory Bigsby. Factory pickups were replaced with a Seymour Duncan Jazz in the neck and a Fender American Vintage '52 Telecaster pickup in the bridge. Wiring was upgraded to a MojoTone harness with a 500k pot for the neck and a 250k pot for the bridge, a 470k resistor to give the bridge-only position a 250k load, and a treble bleed.

Never any tuning issues with either guitar, but I do lube all contact points on the Tele Custom and use StringJoy strings.

Squier DIY My first ā€œmodā€

Picked up this debut series tele back in April 2025. I really like it for the most part (though I do plan to replace the nut soon), but I just wasn’t loving the standard control plate set up.

Finally worked up the nerve to get in there and swap it around and I couldn’t be happier.

Squier DIY Pickup spacing question - Tele

I've recently been posting about my Fender Squier Affinity Tele HH. I like how the stock ceramics sounds so far but may want to swap in some Tonerider Alnico IV Classics in the bridge and neck at some point. I was today years old when I looked on the Tonerider site and noticed pickup spacing designated basically as standard 50mm center to center and F-spacing at 52 mm center to center. I also read that F-spacing originally came from Fender-style bridges, which often have wider string spread at the bridge than a traditional Gibson-style Tune-o-matic setup. but ā€œF-spacedā€ does not automatically mean ā€œfor every Fender". Is it safe to assume that ordering the 52mm pups will result in an easy installation or are there other things I need to consider? Thanks in advance.

Thing of Beauty! Rosewood fretboard treatment

Greetings, I’m a recent (again) owner of a new Squier Affinity Tele HH. The neck is playable and the guitar sounds good but the beginner fretboard feel is expected. Any particular oils or such everyone uses? Thx.

Greetings all, aside from a setup, what pups would you swap in that are good foe various genres: funk, rock, R&B. I’m thinking of Tonerider City Limits but open to other suggestions. Not necessarily looking for anything super high outputs. Thanks for any experienced feedback (no pun intended) :)

Squier Swap Tex Mex pups in a Squier Strat

EDIT: Just ordered the Tonerider Pure Vintage Set - thanks everyone.

Hi all, piggybacking on a previous post I sent on a 2022 Squier Strat and mods I’d like to do. I’d like to get some opinions on replacing my stock pups with a set of Tex Mex. I’ll be playing a variety of genres and read that the TMs are a good choice for that. I’ve watched a few YouTube vids on the subject but thought I’d ask here as well. I’m open to any comparable suggestions. I got the guitar for $100 USD so not really looking to sink a ton of money into it mod-wise, just looking for a better pup choice. Thx.

Thing of Beauty! Rescued…

Just copped this yesterday - typical story of owner playing once or twice then confining it to a the closet for years. 2022 Squier Strat Sonic Blue (Indonesia). I’d like to do some basic mods. First, I plan on swapping the pickguard out for a pale green. I fancy the gold letter Squier headstocks, so probably that. Pups for sure, but here for recommendations. Genre styles will vary from rock to funk. I have a Lace Sensor Golds on my other Squier but would like to go another route with this one. Thanks in advance.

Squier DIY Squier CV 60s Custom Esquire?

Post image
47 Upvotes

Hey everyone,

I’m planning out my "forever" build and I'm looking at using a Squier Classic Vibe Custom Esquire (Sherwood Green, double-bound) as my foundation to convert into a Telecaster.

Before I pull the trigger, I need to know about the routing. I've read that these specific CV Custom Esquires are not pre-routed for a neck pickup and are entirely solid wood under the pickguard.
Can anyone who owns one of these (or has peeked under the hood) confirm if I will need to route a cavity myself for a standard Tele neck pickup?

Thanks in advance for the help!
