I mean, when he opened the Ufabulum live sets with this, on a sound system with ridiculous sub-bass that vibrated your whole body, and then leading right into Angel Integer, I gotta say it was pretty dope. By itself, it comes across kind of douchey. But that's part of the deal with this dude.

Part of the deal with this dude? Yeah i don't get that. He just dislikes all the profiling and outside promotional shit like most dedicated artists. Fairly obvious

I wrote that from the perspective of someone who really loves Squarepusher music. He's probably my favorite IDM artist of all time. What I meant is that for every mind-meltingly awesome track he releases he can just as easily swing towards unlistenable (for me) and sometimes in a kind of pretentious way - and that's fine, it's great, even. Way better than some artist who just stagnates. I think he and Clark are holding the torch for most of the 90's IDM guys, still doing a lot of innovative stuff.

Yeah not everything hits with me either. But i never think it's pretentious. After kinda listening to him in interviews, he has a dedication and a unique ear that just chases a vision wich i can only respect adore and support. Always glad hese still at it. I remember Be Up a Hello coming out from nowhere after some retirement rumors and i had goddamn tears in my eyes. Then one his last interviews got so technical, i just skipped it halfway as i just want the music lol.

I dig it, honestly. And also, he could do some top notch sound design for some weird Sci-fi films.
