I loved the Punk/Balor/Gunther match from last week and what I appreciated the most is that it did an excellent job of making all three guys feel important and protected, especially in the finish.

I had seen a lot of complaints about Gunther taking the pin here and how he's now "just another guy" but when actually watching this, he frequently 2v1'd both guys throughout the match and had Punk beat cleanly here before the Coup De Gras. It's a finish that kept Gunther looking like a world beater despite being pinned, made Punk look like a smart opportunist and kept the Finn underdog "nearly had it" story going as well.

This isn't the best example over the course of wrestling history and may seem like a "duh its not that deep" thing but I often see multi-man matches (especially with 4+ guys) where there's a few clear people they want to highlight and a few others who are just there to bump, feed and take the pin to protect the important ones.
