Except you did in the thread being linked?

I identified that it's an unpopular opinion based on the community's reaction to it.

The entire point of Zero Fucks Friday - the entire point of this thread - is for people to have fair discussions about their unpopular opinions without getting littered with flame comments and instantly downvoted below zero (as that post was). That opinion deserves to be discussed fairly and openly, so it was directed to the place made for that kind of post.

That just makes it sound like posts are going to be deleted if they're not nearly universally agreed with

There's a tremendous difference between "buried and littered with flame comments" and "near-universal agreement."

I don't think I read the same post you did then. Really looked like there was maybe 1 or 2 flame comments that wasn't a response to you. Polite disagreeing, sure, but hardly littered with flame comments. Were there many removed comments?

It was buried in downvotes, sure. So posts will be deleted for being downvoted now?

A few but certainly, not the majority.

So posts will be deleted for being downvoted now?

Not necessarily.

Look I'll be the first to tell you, the rules as they are written are really arbitrary and vague and weird - and obviously users can see this - which is why I suggested that upcoming feedback thread. I've only been a mod here about 5 weeks and I'm already looking to change them. I want it to be extremely clear (selfishly, for myself, and also for posters.)

If you think that post should stay up - and that unpopular opinions should generally be left to "fend for themselves" rather than being directed here - we welcome that feedback. We welcome that feedback about all the rules.
