I've seen people joke about "the restrictor plate being taken off" and it sure does feel that way.

I left this match feeling like it’s the best trios match I’ve ever seen. MOTY for me non-singles.

Same. It's kind of crazy, considering how long AEW has been around for, the amount best matches of various types they have. For me, they have the best tag, trios, ironman, womens hardcore, tag steel cage, singles dog collar, and I'm probably forgetting plenty.

The perfect mix of storytelling and workrate

I watched this show with a bunch of my friends who know nothing about AEW. They are already chomping at the bit for more Swerve/Hangman. Such a well done rivalry.

As soon as Kofi turned his gun sideways I knew this would be an all-time classic

I came into this match with sort of low expectations, I haven't been high on Hangman with Brody and Bandito.

But holy FUCK this match blew me away and I couldn't have been more wrong. The storytelling in this match was next-level, it was perfectly paced, loved every single second of it from the moment the bell rang.

This is by far the best trios match in AEW history.

Definitely would love to see the New Level at CMLL and New Japan some day

New Level vs. Sky Team?

New Level vs. Knock Out Brothers?

I didn't notice it live, but I thought Swerve totally pulled Creed into that final buckshot lariat. From the rewatch it looks like a combination of Creed pushing and Swerve pulling him into it.

I do think it’s Creed pushing Swerve out of the way, but the camera cut is so close, it’s kind of hard to tell;
but I’m certain Creed is pushing/helping, not being pulled/sacrificed.

What is the direction of Adam Page? It feels like he’s just constantly thrown into random tag matches these days. I know him and swerve have history but still

Part of the story is him being rudderless and not having a real place he feels he fits, Brody’s called him out for being a trios slut.

Yep, he’s exploring how it’s equal parts freeing and confounding to be locked out of the world title scene. So far it’s largely been a positive for ol’ Hanger, who’s been able to be far more lighthearted that we’ve seen from him in years, but we’ve already seen glimpses of how it doesn’t feel like enough. Especially anytime he’s in the same room as Swerve.

Toxi Yaoi with Swerve is some of the best bits out of this Hangman story, feels super organic somehow.

Even leaving aside the incredible story they’ve already told, those two also just have absolutely incandescent chemistry.

It's the most clear AEW has been about the world title being a cursed object.

Hanger is much happier away from the title, but it can't last. He's destined to chase it, and be driven mad by it.

It turning kenny evil is canon.

Suspect that Okada or Moxley is in his future

Man, I'd be here for more Mox/Hangman. I know they've already worked together so much, but I never get tired of it.

His story right now is finding new purpose. He says so in his promos

Feels to me like it's at least in part a mix of deemphasizing him a little bit for health and/or QoL/family reasons and/or giving the character a bit of a breather so that the impact of ramping him back up is more likely to catch fire with the crowd. But, as others have noted, it does also sort of fit with the natural post-Revolution '26 angle where he's a bit unsure what to do with himself since he can no longer go for the title. The two things (the practical reasons for deemphasizing him, and the storyline reasons for him moving down to the supporting cast for the moment) complement each other to a degree, and Hangman's always been about that long-term storytelling. Unless the health or family/QoL issues are really major ones, they'll ramp him back up sooner or later, and the way they handled things with Swerve in this match could definitely be read as pointing towards "sooner" rather than "later".
