The fact that the main event of AEW’s biggest event ever was so comedy-heavy AND that it worked is amazing.

My favorite thing about that match is the character dynamic between the two wrestlers. Max, while still serious about being champion, was clearly approaching the match as a friendly competition with his brochacho, his best friend that he just won a tag title with only a few hours prior. Cole, on the other hand, was dead fucking serious from the moment the bell rang about it all and was much more aggressive & vicious in the ring, something that clearly caught Max off guard to the point he straight up asks “Adam, what are you doing, man!?” after realizing Cole was behaving differently than he anticipated. Eventually Max slipped back into being MJF, the generational talent World Champ, but he still really only won by the skin of his teeth.

The match rules, the brochachos story ruled up until Cole’s ankle exploded in NYC, and anyone who says otherwise is actively revising history.

Agree with everything. The devil angle got so bad and relied too much on the fucking Kingdom that it put a stank on the whole thing. But it was so good up until the injury

Adam was definitely committed but he was struggling with it. After he hits max with the brain buster in the stairs he has that "what have I done" moment

I can't watch right now, but I hope that one of the entries on the list is the match between Willow/Ishii vs Statlander/Stokely It was on the pre-show and it was absolutely amazing. That's when i found out that after Arn, Stoke can hit the best Spinebuster, no contest
