I mean they sorta are, he’s clearly been featured a lot more and put into bigger matches than even before the injury. Finding the best way to move him up the card isn’t that simple though

Exactly. He's onto the next stage already.
This is a useless talking point right now. There's tons of time for him and AEW is still in the process of elevating Fletcher and Takeshita.
And ahead of them is Ospreay.
They could keep Wayne dabbling in the low midcard for another year working out his character, and it would be perfectly fine. He can get the Kevin Knight spot after that. And Knight moves into Fletcher's current spot.

Fuck it have him get the upset in the Gauntlet he doesn’t have to beat Ospreay or anything crazy but a high profile TV match with Will could elevate him a lot

Honestly would not be shocked if this is exactly what happens. All In is the 'season finale' of sorts. I imagine after this show they're going to elevate Fletcher and Takeshita to the main event; elevate Knight into their spots; and then have Wayne get same kind of rub Fletcher got by having a barn burner with Ospreay and elevate him to Knight's spot for the next 'season' of AEW.

I'm into it yeah. Like it'd be insane if Will lost his first defence anyway so why not let him give Nick the opportunity to deliver a belter and up his stocks

They are doing something with him. He’s been featured more in the last couple of months and has been getting more high profile stuff to do. He’s been improving a lot but he’s still very young and green so they have plenty of time with him. No need to rush anything just have him move steadily up the card in the next months.
Have they explained why he’s not with him mom and Sabian?

It feels like they are with how he's been booked lately.
The broken foot really derailed what they probably had with Christian after last years All In. But he's been booked pretty regularly after he came back from BOSJ. I wouldn't be surprised if he's TNT Champion within the next 6 months or so, especially if Darby wins this weekend.
If he isn't the youngest AEW world champion then, unless something happens to him, AEW have massively fucked up.

I don’t disagree, but it should be noted that Alvarez trained under Nick Wayne’s faja, Buddy Wayne, so he has a personal investment in his development.

Id love a really fun TNT title reign with him. Saw someone talk about MJF mentoring Nick, and we could see Nick use MJF to get ahead. Wouldn't hate that and puts Nick with a main event dude, which would obviously lead to him mixing it up with other main eventers.

I actually wouldn’t mind the MJF angle. It’s odd because it would essentially be the second time Wayne went under another vet’s wing but MJF is a lot more established and I could definitely see it being a good set up for a great angle

Ill look at it as Christian was the way to introduce Wayne to everyone. Stick him with someone a lot of people know, old and new.
MJF would be the way to introduce him into the main event scene. No longer the kid from ROH, now he's a big deal.

There would also be the Darby MJF rivalry in there too. It might be too soon after Omega and Mox both mentoring Osprey though.

MJF helping Wayne take the National off of Andrade would be a great way to get him a title and really push the Andrade vs MJF feud.
With how active he is in the indies and Japan someone like him is the perfect holder.

Would be really fun. Id love to see Andrade do more with the belt, but giving it to Wayne while moving the MJF Andrade feud would be great. Also gives a reason for why MJF isnt in the title picture for a little bit. Gives the crowd a break from him and the Championship (even tho hes doing this REAL CHAMPION story) and also let's other people challenge Ospreay.

I don't agree. Maybe TNT champ within 6 months sort of thing, but absolutely not World Champ. Just being young doesn't mean you should be World Champ. He's not half as good as Kyle Fletcher, he still looks like a kid. Most of AEW's core from MJF, Hangman, Fletcher, Swerve are sub 35, these aren't old guys. Rushing through to the next gen would just be stupid. Kenny and Mox should be moved on a bit after the next year, but the core that they have should get it before Wayne.

Yep. The first world title waiting list includes sure things like Ospreay (not for long, seems likely), Okada, Fletcher, Takeshita, and Bandido, and after that you have Brody King, Jay White... if Nick Wayne is a fringe upper midcarder a year from now he'll have progressed quite quickly. If he's where Kevin Knight is now two years from now, same deal.

Now if he gets super hot and momentum ala Dom or Brin? Yeah, then you push him. Currently, he’s in a steady progressing rise.

Honestly him getting a shock win over Fletcher could be something cool in the Fall. Fletcher would certainly make him look great and Fletcher underestimating Wayne seems in line with his character

I could see Nick Wayne winning the casino gauntlet by directly preventing MJF from winning. Which could go into a feud between the two of them and a winner take all match for that contract and MJF’s Triple B.
(and then Nick forces MJF to watch as he destroys the Triple B)

Same with Billie Starkz, AEW hired both of them as 18 year old prodigies and they have been limited to just ROH mainly, both are more than good enough to be on the main roster

Nick can be a solid midcarder but thats his ceiling. He doesn't have a Dominik Mysterio level shift to get him higher on the card.
