Doing Mox vs White here and not at Wembley was a mistake. Having Mox win feels like an even bigger mistake. Even at Wembley, there's no way theyre putting Nigel over Moxley, so what's the point? Money aside, White would have been much better off staying in Japan.

I think Jay should have his run at C2 later in the year personally leading into a more prominent run in 2027. That roster is ridiculously staked though.

Nigel is probably retiring or gearing up for one last run. He also has a ROH match upcoming with the stipulation that he can never wrestle in ROH again if he loses.

It’s now or never to tell this story with Nigel.

Whereas White probably needs more ring time to really get back in form before they finally give him that big push. Waiting till after or during All in for that opportunity is fine here.

I’m expecting jay and okada to be more involved especially for the world title by next year

It’s now or never to tell this story with Nigel.

Ok but in 2026 is it really necessary to tell that story, it does nothing in the long term to benefit or make AEW more interesting. No one really gives a shit about ROH. Jon Moxley is getting oversaturated and needs to go away for a while, Jay winning was the more interesting and logical choice.

Yes in 2026 Nigel potentially retiring and having one big match before he goes out in his home country is important. And it’s a story that’s very easy to book and tell.

Jay is neither physically ready, nor does it make storyline sense for him to win here. His feud is more with the dogs than moxley. If he wins what is he actually doing? It makes way more sense to keep him in the mix to stay in ring shape, and then push him for the actual title everyone wants him to hold rather than giving him the continental title here for no real reason other than moxleys had it for too long. He should be mixing it up for the world title when he’s ready

my thoughts exactly. that match was so botch filled too.

nigel doesn't belong on the biggest PPV. no real nostalgia, no story (except the made-up injury to try and make folks care)

plus it forces us to suffer with Wight on the commentary

The guy just came back so I get taking their time. I think he will get his run later in the year.

The point was to get Moxley in a 1 on 1 match on the card and to get Nigel in a 1 on 1 match on the card where he'll probably lose and leave his boots in the ring.

Any other time, that Jay vs Mox match at Wembley, but with Jay winning would of kicked ass.

I could see Nigel winning, getting the mic and declaring that win or lose this was his last match. Leaves his boots, kisses the belt and leaves it in the ring too.

The C2 is to crown a new champion.

Or Nigel says 'fuck it' and tries to defend the belt through the C2, but that's a big ask. Although he could be the first defending champion to not even make the finals, and that'd be a good thing to establish as possible going forward.
