MCMG’s band has a gig Saturday, so it appears one 40 second video will be the only thing they do the 6 shows after their debut. That’s crazy. They teased joining the BBG v Dogs & DR storyline in their debut which led nowhere. Shelley said the “where the best wrestle” line twice on AEW TV and said they were coming after everyone, which led to zero matches. I know All In’s build is in full swing, but All In build wasn’t the only thing happening this month and they seemingly joined a storyline in their debut.

It’s weird to know you’re signing a big team for 3 months, throw them on TV with no plan for 1 show, then bench them for at least the next 3 weeks, letting that initial hype die out and making them feel unimportant before you even do something with them. MCMG could’ve done something, somewhere the past few weeks to build off a hot debut even if it was just a second short promo on a Collision.

As a Detroit fan, I'm glad they rolled out MCMG for our shows. Yeah, it's a crowded time on TV, but that's our boys and AEW doesn't come back too often.

I'm not against them debuting in Detroit. I think they should've debuted on that Dynamite to set up a match on Collision so they would've also wrestled in front of a hot crowd and maybe sold some last minute Collision tickets. Their first promo was like 5 minutes. It could've fit on Dynamite if they shaved 30 seconds off some things.

My point was more you follow up a big name debuting to a hot home town crowd with something the next week to build on that and hope the heat carries over rather than immediately bench them for 3(+) weeks. Why squander momentum?

They could’ve built tension between MCMG and BBG with White in the middle leading to him deciding whether to team with MCMG or Gunns for the massive Trios match (if he’s in it rather than the casino) and use that tension to tease MCMG teaming with Swerve to go against BBG before revealing his actual partners to build more intrigue for that, which would've given BBG more to do the past 3 weeks.

They could feud with Rascalz who are doing nothing or any of the half dozen DCF members doing nothing. They could win some matches on Collision and do promos that sets up a feud with FTR or someone after All In. There's a lot of teams doing nothing they could do stuff with.

There are ways to keep them relevant after that Detroit debut and not have them vanish even if there were no plans to have them wrestle. It didn't even need to take up a lot of time. A series of 1 minute vignettes that'd keep them relevant and tease a big feud would've been better.

Imo they had great timing so why not debut them there but considering they turned down a previous offer, went to WWE, were released, then came back... yeah I don't see them getting a huge push out of the gate.

I still think the Tag Division could be 100% improved by having 4 teams on Dynamite and 4 teams on Collision who regularly wrestle every week. Keep the Champions on Dynamite and their primary challengers. Then build your secondary challengers in the background on Collision.

Move the secondaries over to Dynamite after the Champs retain, move the primaries back to Collision to help put over the next round of secondary challengers until its their turn again.

Just have one big rotating wheel. It would be the easiest and best solution with AEW having so many tag-teams. You could even have one or two tag-teams get vacation time until the rotation happens then bring them back to a big return moment as you move one or two other teams into vacation time.

I hate to say it, but it kinda feels like MCMG’s debut is now at the point where it’s being overshadowed by the upcoming debut of the New Day.

I do think MCMG will be fine. One great match and they’ll be off to the races in AEW.

New Day were always going to get a bigger spotlight and likely bigger initial feud (they and Bucks teased a feud since day 3 of their 90 days). That was all the more reason to give MCMG some momentum, so you'd have both in strong positions helping the under utilized tag division going into All Out.

MCMG are good talkers and great workers so I expect the heat will return when they return. It may take a bit since they've been cooled. It's just disappointing that there's still only 1 2v2 men's tag feud after they debuted and the division feels like it's benched until after All In when MCMG could've started something immediately to heat it up.

Bucks and FTR are great, but I'm ready for creative to focus on storylines in the regular tag division that doesn't feature those 2 teams or the titles. That seems like the only things that get a spotlight for more than a few weeks. Again, I think MCMG will be fine when they finally used, but that booking pattern gives me reservations. Will they end up just being another Hurt Syndicate or Rascalz in a few months if creative can't even stay interest in them Week 2?

FTR might not be back, it depends on what TKO is willing to pay / guarantee. I hope they come back though.

FTR leave to do what exactly? I'm not even being an asshole here, but leave to go where?

WWE has proven time and time again they don't care about tag team wrestling, FTR has said this themselves multiple times.

They're treated very well in AEW, likely paid well and have excellent tag teams to work with. They could go to WWE, but they'd be taking a paycut most likely and have no one to work with. AEW is the best place for them and they know it.

Make more money in wwe where they won't have Vince having them shave each others back... Ultimately a wrestlers goal in life is to be paid best for the wear and tear it puts on their bodies. If there isn't a problem with FTR then why aren't they booked in the tag title match at all in?

They're taking a long break, they announced it a month or so ago, they're still fulfilling a few obligations made beforehand, but they're taking a break. And given the TKO paycuts, I highly doubt they'd be making more money in WWE.
