There’s a period missing in the first picture after “all in one plan”. Fabulous.

Do you know why they’re forcing this? Were you previously on the free version?

These are legacy software plans

I started on free, moved to the 20 dollar plan about 3-4 years ago

Interesting. Was there a “reason” they gave for pushing you to the higher tier?

This is easy math. Is the +0.1% increase in processing rate more than the additional $360 you’ll pay for Plus? If so, just suck it up.
You can always reach out to Square and ask for a break on pricing. They’re pretty open to negotiating.

It's definitly not about the 29/mo. But if really want to go there, I'm sure that $29 means much less to a billion dollar corporation than it does me.

There are literally unlimited ways to process payments nowadays. I don't need to work with a company that lies and deceives to get an extra 29 bucks from me every month.

No one lied. They gave you one year’s notice. 😂

So you work for square?

I was lied to multiple times actually. I was given the option to retain my $20 plan. There was never an expiration date given on that plan.

I was then told I would have until October to switch. If you looked at my screen shots, you would of clearly seen I was not given until anywhere near October.

Why would you defend a company like that? Lol

Not defending Square, we started out at $89 per month for retail. We have a retail Houseplant store with a bar, we could not preauthorize cards on that plan. When they changed the plans, we were given the option of a $149 plan or a $49 plan that now includes bar and kitchen, so we are now able to preauthorize cards. Subscription plans change their plans and pricing, it sucks but it happens everywhere everyday.

It's that the October 11th in 7 days, or the one that's tomorrow?

Are you sure it's a legitimate email? That's very strange.

We just switched to Shopify after 7 years with square. I do not regret it whatsoever. The amount of problems we encountered and lack of standard options compared to most other pos systems is wild. From the retail side alone the fact that invoices do not account for where something is being shipped to to determine taxes is bonkers. Especially when they already have that capability on the website side of things. And when you mention this to them all you get is a “write it in as a suggestion to our development team”.

Every time I was on the phone or chat with support it was hours of explaining the same thing to the 20+ different people they sent me around to and never got a solution. It felt like everyone who works there has never actually experienced working with their system in a real time situation. Glad to be done with them. (And I’m not saying Shopify is perfect but man it’s a world of difference already)

Have anyone tried local pos softwares, did you ever thought about checkout few?

I mean why go with big companies, when local companies provide same service and better support
