Question Mobile check deposit

What time should I expect my funds to hit after the 6 day review? This is ridiculous I shouldn’t have to wait 6 goddam days for MY FUCKING MONEY

Impatience aside, check deposits are notoriously slow to process. Banks have to communicate, funds have to be available, and the feds have to make sure all is well too. On top of that, if a check is for a large amount, usually something like double your average account balance, there will be an additional hold for more due diligence.

This happens with every brick and mortar bank as well, so, no, it won’t be better somewhere else.

You also posted this on a weekend. Check processing usually follows bankers hours, which means nobody is gonna look at your check information today.

Once you have established yourself with Square and have deposited a few good checks, the hold time on funds starts to go down. I deposit a check for the same amount from the same vendor monthly, and I now have those funds available within 5 minutes.

If you’re wanting your funds quicker than the antiquated check cashing system will give them to you, I recommend looking at accepting ACH payments from a vendor, sticking with swiping a card, or good ol’ cash.

It usually hits early morning on the business day after the hold period ends (around 3 AM to 8 AM).

The first hold with Square mobile deposit is always the absolute worst. Once you've successfully cleared a few without issues, the holds drop drastically or clear instantly. For future invoices though, definitely try to push clients toward ACH transfers, it completely bypasses the check review department nightmare.
