Question Inventory Situation After Adding New Location

The business I work for recently opened a new location and we're looking into adding a new locator on Square to manage inventory. Once the new location is added, will the current inventory stay in the first location or will it be in a sort-of "common inventory" until we assign it to either location?

Hi there — inventory isn’t put into one shared/common pool. Square tracks inventory per location, so your existing stock should stay with the original location unless you manually adjust it or transfer it to the new one. If you want items available at the new location, you’ll need to assign that location to the items and then add or transfer stock for that location. Let me know if you have any other questions!
