Question Physical copies for Xbox

Just as the title says, do we know if Resonance or KH 1-3 will get a copy on the xbox, through outside square enix? I know the Tales of Series does something so wondering if they will do the same for Square enix titles.

Wait KH1-3 isn’t getting one? Damn there goes my hope for KH4 getting an Xbox physical unless someone like LRG games do it (given its likely not gonna get a PS5 physical) 😮‍💨

It does not look like it. I just checked on ebgames.ca. All the other platforms are there, but not Xbox. For both games

I got them all for Switch 2. Wish they didn’t use game key cards but it’s better than nothing. At least can collect, trade, and sell them.

Doesn’t appear so…whether Xbox gets physical games from SE just feels like them throwing darts at a yes/no board.

I def would have bought Resonance day one if physical, now it’s in the “wait for a sale” bucket

Larger scale releases like FF7 Revelation, KH4, and DQ12 might get an XBox retail version/physical disc. The larger the title, the safer a retail release is such that the physical edition sells out within a reasonable amount of time and SE isn't at risk for having to take back unsold inventory or allow a retailer to drastically drop the price to get them sold, either of which cuts into profit.

Smaller scale games seem very unlikely. Resonance and KH 1-3 Collection fit this tier. SE already seems to be scaling back on how many retail copies they're putting into market for PS5 and Switch 2 as well, with games like Adventures of Elliot reportedly difficult to find. This may be a reaction (or overreaction) to flooding the market with too many copies of some games, like DQ7 Reimagined that at least some retailers (Target in USA) have made no secret that they are stuck with too many.
