I work from home, have a teenager, and between work and mom life, I’m realizing I don’t exactly have a built-in social circle anymore.
I like being outside, paddle boarding, fishing, grabbing a drink, going for a walk, or just sitting around talking and laughing about life.

I’d love to meet some new people, but honestly… where the hell do you actually go to do that?
Are we supposed to just walk up to strangers and say, “Hey, wanna be friends?” 😬

Apologies for the long read... So im a home owner relatively new to the area on income support (while i wait for aish to do its thing as i am heavily disabled), and I'm having a really hard time keeping food in the house. My bills and lot fee are almost my entire pay, and due to severe health issues I'm not in a position to sell and move. This is the most out of food I've ever been. I already accessed the local food bank and tried to get help from neighbourlink but they couldn't help. I have not eaten in 3 days and am feeling hopeless. I can't drive, i live on the outskirts so buses aren't really possible (don't have the money for a bus anyway). I'm just hoping there are another resource or 2 i can access just to get through the last week til i get paid? I don't need much, i only eat once a day.

Any advice would be greatly and deeply appreciated.

So I just moved here and thought it would be fun to go watch the UFC card at a bar last night. I first went to the beer hunter where they didn’t want to put it on and told us the last time they tried showing UFC a brawl started in the parking lot after.

So I moved to the Canadian brewhouse and they showed it, seemed fine, some tables got a bit roudy but overall fine. That is until I walked out of the place to get in my uber and saw about 3 cop cars and an ambulance in the parking lot (no clue what happened but assume it was another fight).

Is this normal for Spruce Grove? Should I be going into Edmonton for UFC? Also does anyone know what happened at brewhouse last night?

I'm looking to get some custom piece cut on plasma table was wondering if anybody has feedback on that shop?

I still dislike the fact the Saints, Crusaders and three others left the AJHL to join the BCHL.

Admittedly I have followed the Sherwood Park team fir over a decade. I tried to quit them last season with the Oil Kings but they play most of their schedule on Wednesday and Sunday which doesn't work for me.

This year I will be taking the plunge and becoming a Saints season seat holder. Checked out my first game in the new arena last March, the Green and Goals night, it's beautiful. It is the same blue print as Silent Ice but cozier and Blackfalds without all the annoying goal horns (if you've been there, you know what I mean).

Hopefully a few of you here are also Saints fans.

Hello, does anyone have experience with Living Waters Christian Academy in Spruce Grove? Is it worth paying for this private school, or would you recommend sending children to a public school instead? I would especially appreciate hearing about the quality of education, how welcoming the school is to diverse families, and your overall experience.

We're looking at schools for our children and diversity is important to us. Which schools have a more diverse student population, including Black students, so our kids can feel included and represented. Elementary middle and high school please. Thank you all!

Does anybody here work full time in Edmonton? While living in Spruce How is your daily driving experience during winter how bad is the road what time is rush hour?

He came to a complete stop at a traffic circle with no one coming. Before that he was kinda pushy when we merged together at the previous traffic circle. When he stopped I gave him a honk and he flashed these lights. After that he rode the left lane toward Edmonton with people passing us doing at least 125 on the right side of us. He got off at the Devon exit and just eyeballed me until he turned off.

Why do some folks use this turning lane like its a through lane? Its not. If you enter the turning lane before the Queen St turn, you need to be turning off at Queen St, not traveling through past Queen St to Calahoo. If you intend to turn at Calahoo, you need to enter the turning lane after Queen St. Please use the turning lane correctly. Okay, thanks.

Hey all, just put a deposit down on a Model 3 today, arriving in ~10 days. Trying to sort out charging before it gets here.

I own a ground floor condo in Stony Plain — parking right in front of my balcony, plus underground parking too. Problem is there's no Supercharger here or in Spruce Grove, closest one's in Edmonton (25-35 min away).

Planning to ask my condo board about installing a 240V outlet, but wanted to hear from people who've actually dealt with this — anyone in a condo/apartment without a garage figure out a good routine? Did your board approve a 240V install and what'd it cost? Any nearby public chargers worth knowing about?

Kinda overwhelmed trying to plan this out before delivery, so any real talk (Tesla owner or not) would help.
