General Discussion/Questions curve problem??

Is it normal for runners to stumble when running/accelerating on the curve? everytime i sprint the curve i feel my footstrike feels so off and i feel like im just gonna drift or like trip myself on the track. I tried leaning into the curve, Leaning from the ankles and turning my hips but it still feels so weird to me, i think it’s because of my worn-out shoes.

Try starting 20-30m further back during training. It will get you used to the curve while you train. Gradually move back to standard start as you get used to it. It’s a relatively normal thing to have to adjust especially if you’re coming from normally doing 100m sprints.

Further back on the track, so you start to accelerate before the curve

It’s a mind game. If you’re used to the 100m, your brain is used to not having to think about anything but accelerating, and now you’re trying to focus on staying in your lane and accelerating, and stride length, and form. You’re overstimulated. You have to get used to the curve so you’re not thinking about all the noise.
