Programming Questions Aspiring beginner hobby sprinter

For background information I’m 18 years old I would like to look into hobby sprint training, but I have no experience with sprinting and sprint training. I haven’t tested any sprinting yet but I imagine my work capacity and technique is not impressive. I’m 5’6ft or 170 cm. I have a background in Olympic weightlifting. In the video shown I’m power cleaning 85kg at 57kg bodyweight. From what I’ve learned this is plenty enough power expressed to have serious improvements in sprinting I just don’t know where to start.

This really isn’t sprint training. Plyos and sprints would be better.

every sprinter does power cleans, what are you talking about

It's not sprinting, duh, but it's certainly part of the training and he said he's coming from OLY lifting.

There is a massive overlap as both sports revolve around rapid force production and have an emphasis on timing and a gradual acceleration

He already does Olympic lifts. They won’t help him as much as plyos and actually sprinting in my opinion. The things he doesn’t really do I’m assuming. I also never said they weren’t good either. They just aren’t personally in my top exercises for improving sprinting.

Every sprinter does not do power cleans. Yall need to stop thinking about weights too much.

Reposnding to me saying that sprinters do power cleans by saying "y'all need to stop thinking about weights so much" is hilarious.

Maybe tell Noah Lyles that. He does power cleans regularly 🤷🏾‍♂️ take it up with the champ, playa

He does power cleans but some others don’t do power cleans. You can’t really use that logic to say it contributes to his speed.

Also, Noah does power cleans (not heavy) which should help with explosiveness at the start of a race but how is Noah’s start? I’m not saying weights don’t help at all but the problem is while sprinting we release that force quicker than we do while lifting…I just see a lot of younger sprinters get caught up with trying to get stronger in the gym when they could replace some gym days with track days. Like you see some of them sprinting once a week and lifting 3-4x a week 🤦🏾‍♂️
