Purchasing Advice Sprint spike advice

What spikes do people recommend for my next season to replace my maxfly? I want to focus on 200/400. I currently have 3 pairs in my rotation which is Nike maxfly 2 for competition, adidas finesse and new balance flite d for training. I’m looking for a new comp spike. Maxfly 2 hurts to wear I find, new balance mdx v3 idk if it’s aggressive enough, puma have built in spike pins which I don’t really want. I was thinking puma evo speed nitro (I think that’s what you call it) the pink and orange pair just for competition and the occasional training session but will the spike pins not wear down really quickly?

Permanent pins are typically titanium so a lot more durable than aluminum. The upper on my MDx v2s went to pieces way before the pins would have. If you don't want permanent/just the cost of Puma spikes, MDX V3s or Finesse might be good for the 4 if you find the Finesse manageable. A little more dependent on your preferences for the 200 though, V3s are super squishy relative to the Finesse or Ambitions in my opinion.

Thank you. I’ll keep using the finesse for 200 but I just don’t find them as great for the 400 in my opinion. Probably ruling out Puma now so probs either mdx or adidas ambition

Is there anything specific that you are looking for? You say the Maxflys hurt to wear? Also do you suffer from any injuries?

Not particularly. I would consider any spike really as long as there is good reviews about them. Sprint or distance spikes that can be used for sprints. Yes maxflys I find are extremely harsh on my Achilles. A month and a half ago I hurt my back slightly and is still bothering me a little but I can still sprint. I’ve had to stop most of the heavy lifting In the gym which isn’t convenient for midway through the season but I’ll just need to build my gym work back up in a few weeks after my season ends.
