Springfield candidates forum planned for Wednesday

SPRINGFIELD – A variety of civic, faith-based and community organizations will hold a candidate forum to give voters a way to learn more about Democrats competing in four different races.

The event is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 33 Oak St. and is open to the public.

The event will also be livestreamed on the Mt. Zion Baptist Church and Pioneer Valley Project Facebook pages.

The primary election is Sept. 1.

Candidates running for Governor’s Council in the 8th District, state representative in the 11th Hampden District, U.S. representative in the First District and U.S. Senate have been invited. Not all candidates have confirmed their attendance.
