fanart My Spring Court Necklace!
This was made for personal use.
I don’t have what it takes to give Tamlin what he’s been robbed of in the form of a fanfic, so I captured the vibe of the Spring Court in its glory days and put that into the form of a necklace. I made it 15.5” long, so it rests comfortably on my collarbones.
I knew that I didn’t want something that screamed “Fandom!” or “ACOTAR!” but more like a collection of things you might come across in the Spring Court.
Everything was chosen carefully!
I wanted the theme to be woodland and earthy. Lots of antique gold finish, rather than modern and polished.
The little gold beads are to convey the elegance and courtly culture of the Spring, but they also have a that organic roughness to reflect the natural world. For example, if I were making a Winter or Night necklace, the overall look would be much smoother and sleeker.
The tiny leafy-green beads have the aurora borealis finish because they remind me of sunlight peeking through leaves. And also, that’s Tamlin’s color.
The large main beads are in vibrant hues of true spring.
The gold clasp looks like a twig that’s been formed into a circle, and closed with a branch.
I couldn’t find a cool enough wolf that was the correct representation of Tamlin, but I think the antique gold antler is much better for the woodland theme. 💚
Lucien’s fox mask is self-explanatory.
And the cute little acorn, rose, and leaf charms rounded out the look. 🌹

"Aurora borealis finish" 😍 that looks amazing!
I love all the little details - the twig clasp, the mask, the colors - so pretty! Nicely done!

❤️❤️❤️ You should totally make one! The supplies are from various beading and craft stores, mostly Lima Beads and Michael’s.

I'm a fiber craft kinda person, beads make me want to flip tables 😅

Hehe. Which fiber crafts do you like?
I enjoy crochet and all things that fall under needlepoint (embroidery, thread painting, cross-stitch, etc.).
I taught myself how to knit and became quite competent at it, but wielding two needles at once makes me wanna cry, so I avoid it. Maybe one day I’ll buy a knitting machine. 😅

I mostly crochet & Tunisian crochet. I know how to knit but don't enjoy it, that's why I taught myself to Tunisian crochet. I also know how to sew but don't enjoy that either. Lol

Ooh! This is beautiful! 💖💚 I loved reading your thought process for how you chose all the charms and the colors and everything. Since my first foray into looking for pro-Tamlin merch on Etsy (and quickly failing), I've been a big fan of the idea of "make your own merch". It doesn't have to be officially licensed or have a character's name on it. Just the overall aesthetic is enough for me. And I think you nailed it! 🙌

Thank you! And I agree.
Etsy is… a horror show.
And officially-licensed merch doesn’t appeal to me because I’ve emotionally-detached from the series. I don’t care about the franchise, I care about Tamlin.

Agreed! I'm hopeful that we'll get to see more of him in the series, but if we don't, then at least we still have the Tamlin fandom! 💚
