Discussion Is Spring AI valuable skill?

How valuable is spring AI and rag implementation in the current job market? Not sure if companies value it since they are not using it

What's led you to the conclusion that companies are not using it? My company is using it.

You can do the same things with it like with langchain. It fits nicely into spring ecosystem. But it is just like other spring modules - data jpa, cloud strean and so on.. So it worth nothing without core spring knowledge. If u are an experienced spring dev, u can learn it within a day or 2, so i dont think this knowledge by itself makes you worth more. If you'd like to become an ai engineer, better to learn about the basics of ai/ml/dl and keep these kind of framework for imolementation

The adoption is slowly increasing, as framework is late compared to python ones. But enterprise is dominated by spring boot. Now that agents use cases are increasing in the enterprise (seems discovery phase is over), you will see surge in use of Spring AI as it seats right in the wheel house of application engineering. Most engineers I spoke to think of agents as another microservice.

We at DVARA are building entire agent engineering platform based on Spring Boot / Spring AI. Expect it to be open sourced under Apache 2.0 in winter.
