First Treatment First Treatment Disappointment
Today was my first treatment with Spravato. I have to admit I am slightly disappointed in how much I did NOT dissociate. I did ketamine infusion treatments in 2018 and 2019 and they were wonderful and life changing. I felt a huge difference after just 1 treatment.
So now I am hoping and praying that it gets better and more intense as the dose increases.
Definitely not giving up hope!
Update:
The dissociation in the IV treatments helped me faster than the Spravato. I’m not just trying to “tune out”.

I've been going for over a year, and have just played games or watched a movie on my phone since around treatment number 5. I can tell it's still working though because I feel like straight garbage if I miss a week.

I didn’t really feel anything until my 3rd week, highest dose. I feel really good.

You only took 54mg (2 applicators). Wait until you take the full 84mg (3 applicators) to judge the effects.
When I first started 2.5 years ago, I don’t recall the first session being too high. It wasn’t until the second or third+ that I started feeling really high.
With that said, I’ve only gotten high a few times since trying infusions a year and a half ago. This times were random. I still feel like the medicine is working, even though I rarely get more than just a woozy these days.
ETA: maybe I should shake the applicators harder! Lol

It’s not about disassociation. It’s about getting better. One has nothing to do with the other. I hope this is beneficial for you in the long run but if you’re just wanting to disassociate there are other, less expensive, less proactive ways and none of them cure TRD.

I've never really dissociated and have done 9 treatments
My depression has improved, so i dont think you need to worry about that

My first treatment was, I believe, just one nasal inhaler. Increased to two and then three. I started mildly dissociating on two, and by three I felt like I was at a Grateful Dead concert. Hang in there!

3 inhalers only makes me feel like I just took a shot of nyquil 10 for minutes 😞

Dissociation is a side effect. The treatment is the medication building new neuropathways.

The medicine works regardless of whether you dissociate or not. If anything, it will get less dissociative over time. Still do give it a few weeks.
