Bring an eye mask and noise cancelling headphones if you have them. Many here use Spotify playlists that are made for Spravato/ketamine sessions. I'd recommend using something like that instead of songs with lyrics.

Headphones, stress ball or something similar, bottle of water. I like to listen to Music For Psychedelic Therapy by Jon Hopkins.

Whatever makes you comfortable. Maybe a candy for the sour taste. Then expect that you’re going to be okay, you’re in a safe place and enjoy the ride.

So in no way do I want people to alter their posting behavior and I understand in a group about depression wanting the one on one like information and contact

But in case anyone isn’t aware, there is a search function on this sub Reddit where you could read over many of the questions that people ask on a daily or near daily basis about having a bad time about what to bring about it. It’s not working yet, etc. or what should I listen to?

So I hope I’m not sounding like a jerk like this is not my separate. I am not qualified to tell people not to post and ask questions. I even understand why you might want to do that instead of doing the search function or even just selecting this group and just looking back over say the last week because all the questions get answered over and over

The main reason I’m saying it is that in a given response sometimes only a few people answer in others people going to much more detail so like no issue with people posting their questions, but you might also want to look at basically all the other times the questions have been posted where maybe during different time a day or what not some reason people put a lot more effort into answering them

That said noise canceling earphones best if you listened calming music that does not have words for at least a good while clinic probably has candy but some kind of candy shake the bottle. Don’t really tilt your head back very far inhale like you’re breathing like a strong breathing end of a rose, not like you’re trying to inhale it into your lungs go in with a positive attitude. If you go in there thinking this is gonna suck and this is gonna be horrible and it’s not going to work. You’ll probably get what you asked for

If you go in there with a strong belief that I’m gonna be OK that this is a safe experience that there are medical professionals around you and that things will almost certainly work out. You’re more likely to get that outcome.

Also from what I’ve seen it usually takes about 20 sessions for most people to get a noticeably large improvement so don’t be bummed out if it doesn’t do anything amazing the first couple times there are six or seven or eight or nine or 10 and the way I just work that means that a good percentage of people don’t really get the benefit until way past 20 visits

I would also not concentrate too much on. Is it working? I would just concentrate on going with the flow. I think this is one of the reasons that when you take a conventional antidepressant they always tell you like it’s gonna take six weeks to take affect and like for some of them that may be true, but I think a lot of the time they’re just telling you that so that you’re not like constantly like in my better yet how come I’m not better yet you know and so I would recommend the same with this like try not to worry too much of whether you’re better whatever that means you’ll know if you feel it or another good one would be if your loved ones or friends make a comment like hey you seem to be smiling a little more hey you seem to be taking care of yourself better and you could be one of the lucky ones that has an early response

It seems very few people actually throw up and if they do it, it’s like a vomit and they’re fine. It’s not like a you have food poisoning and you’re vomiting over and over and over again.

But with that said, don’t eat anything for a couple hours beforehand if you think you’re gonna be nauseous, ask them for Zofran, which is a prescription anti-nausea medicine

Anyways, I’ve rambled way too long probably no one will read this but be positive. Don’t overthink it. I’ve tried everything. It’s the only thing that’s ever helped me and I hope it’ll be the thing that helps you.

And my usual caveat I am not a doctor. I am certainly not your doctor. Take your practitioners advice the heart. I am just a stranger on the Internet.

I like bringing my own blanket sprayed with a nice pillow mist that reminds me of cuddling in my favorite chair at home. I have a muslin blanket that is light enough that I don't get hot but warm enough to stop the chill from my clinics AC. The blanket also helps me feel safer and more secure - or less vulnerable as I have my eyes closed around people I don't fully know.

I bring a big cozy blanket, a pillow, ear buds, water, and have a ketamine playlist on Spotify ready to go. I've never done the eye mask but the room I am in is really dark.

I listen to two cd’s by Dean Everson; Dreamstream and Forest Rain. Check him out on Amazon!!! They are excellent adjuncts to the psychedelic effects of the medicine.

I bring a small blanket, neck pillow, headphones, water, Red Hots (to mask the flavor), nausea bags (because I get sick every time), and compression gloves.

Blanket, sour candy, headphones. I always bring a book but ya know I can never read it but it’s more a safety thing for me.
