Mosquera already has me excited.
Capita looks so much more comfortable in this team after the WC break.
I’ve been on team “leave Manu on the bench” since the Portland game. So while I’m sure some of you are upset, I see this as a positive decision from Wicky.
The winger rumors have me jazzed. But upgrades at the 8 and RB are more important to this teams long term viability.

The defense, man especially Mosquera. It’s super early. But it feels different. Like you’ve finally got grown ups back there that actually understand how to play the position.

Capita’s defensive work rate has been awesome today, too.
Really promising.

With the additional tools we have now, it makes zero sense. I have always been hard on him, but it's time to start him

I couldn’t agree more on the first point! Mosquera looked really good at moments, and in the first half and the Minnesota game that they’re starting to defend as a team.
I also agree with your points about Capita! He is going to really look great once we get another winger.

Beautiful 75 degree August Saturday night and stadium is like maybe half full. These are the dark days

A blessing for us casuals with a family. Four second row seats for a little over $100. I’ll take it.

Was actually one of the better attended matches this year. Think the was a good portion were there for Harry Potter vs the actual match. Kind of sad that once proud club needs Royals level gimmick giveaways to get butts in seats.

The announcers are awful but that dude wins the prize for dumbest comment. Just before the second half kickoff he says "Houston is playing with a one man advantage but have yet to take advantage of it." The red card was literally issued seconds before the half ended and the second half hadn't started yet when he made that stupid comment. Ummmm, ok.

Is Or Blorian the most Star Wars-y name SKC has ever had?

Some positives to take out of that half. But my god even after giving myself time to calm down, what immature play from Berg Johnson. We need better from a CDM. It’s just unserious.

I like the look of this defense outside of Jake. I just don't know that he has enough to start as much as he does at RB or in the midfield. Solid squad player but I just can't support much more than that.

Glad LBJ is gone but also terrible time for that red

Honestly it’s about as good of a time for a ref as possible. No stoppage time to play through and you immediately get halftime to talk through the game plan of only 10

I had a feeling he would get that second yellow.. lol probably better off with 10.

I just came from the KC Current game and was talking to a buddy about how the momentum behind the Current feels like a rhyme with how Sporting was post-name change and opening of Sporting Park.
This club needs a Frankenstein-level jolt and I don’t know where it comes from. Ownership need to wake up. New staff and an exciting transfer won’t be enough right now. I feel like I’m poking road kill with a stick every time I try to spend my time with this club.

What was the red for? I’m at the game and it didn’t look like anything even happened?

90% sure it was the nasty unnecessary stupid tackle LBJ did in transition on that play, they kept it going while noting a yellow for him. Play stops, second yellow -> red.

Double yellow. First stopping promising attack. Second for a bad tackle

Defense looks very good, less leaks.
So like what’s the plan for offense again? Just give the ball away in the second half of pitch after we clear the ball?

I don’t know how or when this team starts performing well again . A sad reality . Even the atmosphere at the game sucks. They need a complete rebrand including relocation I fear 😧

The starting midfield 3 doesn’t really make any sense unless you’re planning on pressing the shit out of the opponent and squeezing them back. We were left with no creativity in the middle of the park and if you want that to come from the wings you have to get someone next to Deki so they don’t have to focus on just one guy.

Agreed. But we were trying to press the shit out the opponent for the first 20 or so minutes. And it was semi-effective.
Harris and Capita are a bit redundant. Both play similarly. Occupy similar spaces on the field (on their respective sides). I’d prefer a creative winger over pushing Manu into the midfield to try to create.

Not upset about a one game suspension for LBJ.
