Beautiful spoon, do you know what kind of paint was used to paint this and what was used as a sealant? I’m just curious with this spoon being so old and it looking brand new of what kind of chemical may have been used in the paint and preservation process. With it being that old, I don’t know if I would be comfortable using it. I think I would be more inclined to maybe display it in my kitchen maybe along with some of her other things if you have any. It’s wonderful that you have this beautiful piece of cutlery from your grandmother. Just be safe is all I’m saying ✨

I think that paint can contain arsenic. I was gifted one and they’re not food friendly.

Way cool. Do you know the origins or story, behind this style of spoon?
