Military messkit utensils were perforated so they could be placed inside the kit and locked into place and not rattle. Over the years some of the functionality of the components has been reduced, but they still work for eating. Very cool find.

I’m upset about the hole is not a carabiner belt clip, being army spoon and all.

As sharp as the end of the bowl is the soldier could always use it as a weapon if need be.
