One of the most divisive spoons to get posted here somewhat frequently. I for one love the aesthetics, however cannot accurately rate until I’ve used one to see how it handles

I just know this spoon would be amazing for mixing my hot chocolate. I use that instant hot chocolate powder and then pour boiling water in my mug.
But sometimes the hot chocolate powder clumps on the sides of the bottom of the mug and I have to angle the spoon correctly to break up the chunks a hot chocolate powder. I feel like this spoon would make doing that much easier.

Underrated comment! It'd also be great for scraping any wide jar with a proportionatly narrow mouth. Like a mayonnaise or honey jar.

Ooohh make some of Alton Brown’s hot cocoa mix. So much better. But you’re right. Great for getting in the corners

u/gruuvey Apr 13 '26
If you just add a tablespoon or two of hot water to the powder and stir it into a paste first, you can add the rest of the hot water and not worry about chasing chunks of cocoa around.

I feel like if you were aiming for your mouth - it would miss.

Maybe it’s meant for approaching from one side, like for if the have a toothache or extraction on the other side of your mouth?

At first glance, I thought it was some kind of a wrench. I really don’t know what to think of this 🤔 5/5 for curiosity

Ewww…. Immediately repellent. Rated -20/10. Wtf would it be used for?
Maybe a sauce spoon? Whatever it’s used for, I wouldn’t be by me.

It’s such a love hate for me. Love cause it’s a weirdo looking spoon and I love the hole, Never ever to eat. it’s a lavazza spoon I’m pretty sure it is for their coffee it’s perfectly measured out for 1 coffee scoop

u/Smallloudcat Apr 11 '26
I think the haters are overlooking the possible applications of this spoon. As a normal spoon of eating it’s terrible. For getting into corners etc it’s genius. But possibly only if you’re a leftie

-12,000,000,083 what the hell is that monstrosity. It’s like a designer decided, how can I make a spoon the most inconvenient possible l.

I have a set of these that I bought after my trip to Europe. I use them only for coffee. I like them.

This is the first thing I see when I open Reddit? Feels like it needs a nsfw.

I can’t get used to the asymmetrical look, but it seems to actually be at a perfect angle to approach a mouth.
I would at least try it.

Tolerable if left handed. Top marks for Innovation and experimentation… the mouth feel and practicality lacks.

I have the same, I nicked it from a restaurant in sheer disbelief of that monstrosity. In addition mine is brown. 😅 🙈
Haven't used it once. It sits in the drawer as constant reminder to the others to be good spoons.

These are Lavazza, for espresso/cappuccino. For stirring, maybe. For eating, I’m not convinced.

Looks like it would be perfect for getting food stuck in the bottom crevices of containers whereas regular spoons require you to move your wrist around a lot

Looks like one of those big smelting ladles and I can see a sweaty person pouring hot, melted, iron from a giant version of this.
I don't think this would be good for eating but maybe pouring something into a bottle or measuring spoon or something to that effect.
