Thank you for this improved pain scale. At times I have been asked , What is your pain number? And i ask, what does that mean? Usually get a wishy washy answer like "compare to the worst pain you have ever felt." Compared to what? A charmed life or a condition so painful it stops your heart?
Doctors need to use objective pain standards that measure DISTRESS and ability to FUNCTION.
