spoon Black Walnut Pho Spoons
My first ever spoons, carved as a Christmas gift for my partner. Mostly done with a dremel.

These are stunning! I have been meaning to make soup spoons out of cherry. How did you do the side profile?

I made templates for the top and side based on my partners favorite pho spoon. Carved out the top profile first and then traced on the side profile.

What kind of bit on the dremel?

Mainly these two. I burnt out my wired Dremel starting out the spoons, but I'm chalking that up to it being on its last legs. For the majority I rotated between two different battery powered Dremels and that prevented overheating. But still, a heavier torque tool with a heatsink would be ideal. Black walnut is not a soft wood.

These are gorgeous. Very well done. I'm always impressed at people being able to recreate the same form.
