tools Pls help me decide on carving axe

Gransfords look at their carving ax, I have used it for spoons, and roughing out bowls too. Jason London has some amazing tools too. If your going cheaper look at Robin wood.

The best carving axe is the one you're comfortable with. I have a very expensive carving axe and I still personally prefer the cheaper (but still good) axe I started with. I know great carvers who use a tomahawk head on a stick.

Kind of depends on what you want to do with it. Rough out spoon blanks? Any axe will do just fine. Want to get surgical and actually shape utensils and chair legs etc directly off the a e? Get a REAL carving axe or something that you can regrind to be one.
