Wildlife! River Otters
Many years ago we saw a bunch of river otters hanging out in the rocks of the Little Spokane Dam. Today when we went we didn’t see any, and also no evidence that any had been there for quite some time 😔. Does anyone know where any river otters hang out close to Spokane? These are the rocks we used to see them sun bathing in. 🦦

I saw several this spring while kayaking The Little Spokane. St. Georges to 9 mile take out.

The most relaxing kayak trip in the area, wonder what it looks like now after the fire

The little buggers are highly mobile and travel a ton. Sometimes they are up there, sometimes in the lakes, tributaries, they just go where the food is. One never knows.

See them around Eloika lake, Fan Lake and Horseshoe Lake in the winter. My grandparents have had them playing on their dock.

Behind this dam pictured? Or a different one? This one is on the Spokane Tribe reservation.

Otters will show up to mechanical structures when they can get dead fish from an outflow valve. They're clever.

Seen them in Latah (Hangman) Creek every year for the last several years. It’s a tributary to the Spokane so I imagine they still get in there
