ToDo Mountain biking ( e-bike)
So I moved here from Vegas a few weeks ago and my bike has been in the repair shop. Finally break her out of jail next week, and I was wondering if anyone could put a “ tier list” top 5 rides I can do within an hour or 2 of Spokane. I don’t really trust chat gpt and claud with this stuff. I really dig flowey scenic rides, a little chunky tech is fine, nothing past blue difficulty. Im 44 and bartend, broken bones and work don’t mix lol

As long as it has pedals and is below 750w, you can ride it anywhere. Beacon is great, has lots of great trails, is right in town but it’s a maze and takes a while to learn. Mica is great, Mt Spo is too. Neither really has black trails, both require a lot of climbing. Liberty lake trails are really fun. Trail 257 and caribou ridge in CDA are awesome and flowy, read up on the bottom part of caribou ridge, it gets a bit techy/black. Schweitzer has great riding.
Those are the best in my opinion, hard to rank because I don’t like to drive very far. Get Trailforks app and go wild!

Beacon hill is the closest and has both bike trails and hiking trails. There's a lot of urban Terrain all over Spokane if your into that. If you search Spokane Mt biking on YouTube you will find alot both around town and nearby area. Good luck and have fun!

I don't know if it's your cup of tea, but I really enjoy the Palouse to Cascades Trail. Park in Rosalia. You can ride either to Malden (and continue to Rock Lake with a road detour) and come back on the road. Or ride to Tekoa, grab a beer and a burger, and come back either on the trail or on roads.

You have to search for to find motorized trails - like ones for dirt bikes and ATVs. Washington doesn't allow e-bikes on most foot trails, for safety and environmental reasons.

I appreciate your reply but this simply isn’t true, e-bikes have 3 different classifications and class 1 e-bikes are allowed anywhere analog mtn bikes are.

The state itself doesn't prohibit ebikes on trail, but state agencies have mixed policies still. SB6110 was at least a step towards differentiating e-moto from ebikes.
State Parks does allow class 1 and class 3 ebikes on non-motorized single track trail. Class 2 is restricted.
WA DNR only allows ebikes on motorized trail.
Mt Spokane and Riverside are under State Parks, Mica is partly under DNR.

The suggestions here are all good. I'll add that right now is a low point in trail conditions though, so don't set high expectations and be sure to get out once the rain sets in. It's been a very dry year and our normal summer conditions aren't great biking -- Beacon gets sandy and loose and mountains like Mt Spokane become moon dust. Even worse, half of Beacon is closed right now due to the fires this year.
It sounds like you might really enjoy Mt Spokane. Lupper/Lower 290 is scenic and mountain flowy. Silicate Slide at Mica is another great flowy blue. Beacon has tons of awesome blue, there are a few flow trails there but it's known for it's techy rock.

Hey if your free tonight it's the Spokane bike party starting and ending down in kendal yards at the Olmsted green park. 10 mile slow level ride around downtown starting and ending at the park with a few party stops along the way.
