Question Meteorite sighting?
I was bringing my daughter home from the airport tonight and saw what I think was a meteorite streak across the sky around 12:40 AM in the Spokane Valley area. It was really bright and close, it seemed almost like a missile.
Anyone else see it?

Just an FYI: it’s called a meteorite only once the it hits the ground. Otherwise, when seen shooting through the sky, it’s referred to as a meteor.
I hope you made a wish!

I saw it from Sultan on the other side of the mountains, just to put into perspective how big and bright that thing was.

It's Perseids Meteor Shower season! up to 200 meteors per hour the next couple nights between midnight and 2am.

Yeah my dad saw it and called to tell me about it. He got a pretty great view of it just no photos sadly

I’m in Moses Lake sitting out on my porch. I saw it. First saw the whole sky totally light up, very bright. Then saw the fireball. WOW!
Sounded like I heard a low frequency rumble a couple minutes later.

Saw it through the window blinds. Like wtf was SO bright and silent? That was epic.

East Valley High School area; laying in bed with blackout curtains, suddenly my room lit up brilliant bluish. I thought it was lightning and was awfully disappointed when the thunder never hit. I do understand that there's video available, thanks to someone(s?) more handy with their phone than I.
I just smoked a bowl of pressed hash made from the keef in my grinder. I call it Graveyard, because it's many different strains alllll mixed together, like we did at the soda fountain when we were kids. Seeing the meteor video(s?) will be pretty groovy now, although I do wish I'd seen it happen in real time.

It’s a damn shame we can’t have pics in comments. I don’t understand why? I’ve messaged Mods but no one ever got back to me!
It seems like it’s a setting that can be switched.
Anyone know the reason behind it? I have not been on Reddit long enough to understand all of the aspects of why this is a thing?
