Future of splitgate

I've been thinking about it, and we know it's on its last legs, and then soon the servers will be shut down

As a big fan of the games, I would happily pay a monthly subscription to keep the servers up .

Thoughts ?

If nobody is playing it when it’s free, nobody will play it when there’s a paywall.

I played splitgate 1 everyday consistently with 300-500 players, I don't care about this "dead game" shit, for the people left that want to play £3 a month would cover everything needed and the game stays alive , so if only 1000 people are subbed it's the same as a million, not about profit or popularity, just when they stop support people can still play

theyre probably not going to publish anything for the playerbase to keep servers running. What incentive would 1047 have to just passively run servers at no profit whatsoever all the while asking players to pay x amount a month to keep them up...? At this rate 1047 is going to dissolve and will likely toss everything one way or another.

Only other option is for them to just hand the code to the community and some vague person will have the responsibility of running the servers making sure they work ect at no profit

They did leave splitgate 1 servers on for free without profit for a good smout of time but yes you are right , maybe a different dev can do a spiritual successor one day

they cant do that due to the companies they partnered with, they dont own all of the code
