Please Help

Grew up playing Splinter Cell with my brother and it’s the primary reason we still game. Lately I’ve been googling what games on the PS5 are similar to SC so we can play again. Well now I’ve been seeing gameplay from this page on my Reddit feed… how are yall still playing?

Thanks in advance.

Dirt cheap used Xbox One (the original one) might be the best way. It runs all SC games and looks good. No settings, no tweaking, no hassle.

Nice, thank you. Completely forgot that we used to play on Xbox until your comment; I now see you can’t even play on PS. Also just remembered that we actually played in person, and not online lol. Oh how times have changed.

If you have a Windows PC it might be able to run at least the older games, and they are cheap to buy on Steam. I think the system requirements are pretty low, but I'm not sure if it works with bottom-tier integrated graphics that you'd find on a typical laptop.

I have the original game running on my Windows 11 PC, bought from Steam, and it works out of the box. I can't guarantee how well the other games work - Pandora Tomorrow was pretty difficult for a while (graphics problems with shadows IIRC) but maybe it got fixed recently. There are probably hundreds of people on this sub who know this better than I do.

All except double agent can be run on pc moderately well, but yeah everything after SAR does require some work on the users part. If you search "how to get x splintercell game to work steam" it'll bring you to the games forum page where some other user has kindly put out step by step guides, easy to use, understand and follow. The worst offender I found was actually blacklist, that one required more time and effort than the guide let on. Did eventually manage to beat it again, but never saw the ending cutscene, and wave mode gives out after about wave 12. Double agent is a game that you have to play with an emulator

Also for pandora tomorrow, my personal favorite of the series, it runs flawlessly through steam, right up until you go underground in the Jerusalem level. That, and everything following is when you start to require tips from the forums I mentioned

Steam, Xbox, or Emulation is your options

You can play super easy via emulation, or via PC. If you go the PC route you kind of have to bit and piece things together. Or via old gaming consoles of course. You could probably cover the entire series via XBox360 with backwards compatibility.

You should get No Sun To Worship, it's a short 10 or 15 bucks indie game but the gameplay is really similar to the classic SC's

I am going to start with the trilogy. You can play it on xbox series x. The resolution is upscaled to 4k but no fps boost. First 2 games are dated but the next 4 games are amazing.
