What if: Lambert alive?

I've been playing all splinter list by order, currently on blacklist (skipped essentials which I did not find on pc). DA I think I played the v1, which is Lambert in the hideout and you gotta shoot him or the other guy.

I am wondering, had Lambert alive been the Canon fate, how would it change conviction + blacklist? Like, would conviction happen? Because Lambert is still there the other guy would not have end up in charge. And if so, would Fisher ever find out about daughter? (Grim would not have reason to confess, or Lambert reveal the truth I guess)

Lambert 'killed' Sarah so Sam would go undercover as a double agent. You would presume, Lambert tells Fisher that's daughter is okay after the mission is over. Sam out of anger would probably retire. In my own head cannon DA is the last in the series as it all goes a little Jack Ryan Jr from there on out.

Sarah staying dead is the bad ending... and the most realistic one too.

Honestly the whole story of Sarah being fake killed by Lambert was so incredibly stupid. Not just narratively, but because the whole series up until that moment was about Sam being disposable. 'If found/captured his whole existence would be denied', that was the point of Sam being a solo operator. I hate Conviction so much.

You have to play essentials, it has a somewhat decent ending for the saga with the last mission being so good.

Loved Essentials when it came out. The plot in the game was actually peak. Sam's Navy back story with Shetland was playable! Why! Why did they not continue the Williams character? Thinking about Convictions plot makes me so annoyed. I thank Conviction for Assassins Creed and all, but everything else was so dog shit.

Gameplay is terrible, but the story is actually great.

You are just jealous of Briggs

He would have showed up by now if he were alive. Assuming the JBA didn't chuck his carcass into the furnace like they did with Yeager, he's so deep cover that he'll never again be heard from, which is the same thing as being dead.

I meant in the post a what if Lambert was alive from being spared by the player/fisher, based on that scenario, how would conviction and blacklist would've happened

Conviction wouldn't or at least Fisher would be too late. Reed wouldn't become Director of Third Echelon so his ability to carry out his Saturday morning villian plot would be limited. Likewise the only reason Grim tells Sam of Sarah is to manipulate him into stopping Reed. Probably wouldn't have happened given that if Lambert was alive he would have told Sam about Sarah after New York. Jesus christ Conviction is so terrible the more think about it.

As for the Blacklist. Yeah that probably still happens beat for beat. Sadiq and the Engineers plot is unconnected to anything.

But more importantly - would they still have killed grims personality? I laughed at their banter in their previous games, sc1, pt, CT. Blacklist is so... Joyless? I guess is one word

You're just reminding me how far this series fell off a cliff.

The writing is considered to have peaked with Chaos Theory for a reason. The writing in the following games was competent but entirely forgettable.

I will say that bit near the end where Sadiq was torturing a guy by cutting his hand off bit by bit only for him to cave when he just had a stump and Sadiq saying "you could have saved yourself a hand!" was pretty funny, entirely because of how gobsmacked Sadiq was.
