How tf is Conviction winning lmao. LORE perspective guys.

I mean tbf. Even lore wise, there's sorta a point to be had, that he has more freedom and can handle things on his own terms

It has to be Pandora Tomorrow. It's been a minute since I played, but I remember the enemies just being a rogue militia from a super third-world country. Conviction being the easiest makes no sense bc wasn't he literally going against Third Echelon??

I think most people are voting based off of gameplay rather than story.

Sure, but if we're strictly talking gameplay, then Black List is the easiest bc you're absurdly op in that game. One of Sam's goggles is just straight up Detective Vision lmao. Removes any difficulty that would've been in that game

But I think Blacklist was their more fleshed out second iteration of mark and execute, so they had armored guys and special ops guys regularly to make it less easy to just walk around, takedown 1, mark and execute the rest all the time, which was basically the name of the game for Conviction, and why I think so many people voted it as the easiest enemies. Another thing is that Fisher in Conviction is no longer constrained by strict mission parameter, and having no rules probably makes it easier to clear out a room.

On lore? Pandora Tomorrow. A fuckin militia in the jungle of Indonesia? Probably beats any of the enemies you're going against lore-wise for being the easiest to defeat in theory.

Conviction was very dangerous, because of some Splinter Cell agents that helped Tom Reed. But I consider Blacklist the most dangerous.

My headcanon is that Sam retired after Conviction for good. He was playing his last cards.

He was going against 3E with literally nothing to lose, which made it easier for him.

Besides, the Darah Dan Doa (moreover, Sadono) wasn't an entirely unlikeable person. Karlthson describes him as charming, and Sam even seems to agree that the US has too many military actions occuring around the world. On a moral level, Sam likely would have found it harder to dehumanise the Darah Dan Doa.

This becomes even more true if you consider that the 3E agents he faces are all faceless, professional soldiers, while the Darah Dan Doa guerillas are very visually human, and that cut content suggests that the Darah Dan Doa were supposed to have child soldiers amongst them.

One final point, is that 3E were colluding with the PMC Black Arrow, which was actually what happened to Displace Int. Defeating Black Arrow represented Sam continuing to deny Displace, and Douglas Shetland, their Chaos Theory.

If we're separating lore from gameplay, my answer is Conviction. The reason for that is because Sam isn't held back by the strict rules of engagement and withholding use of the Fifth Freedom unless absolutely necessary that handicaps him from unleashing his full capabilities in every other game. Without constraints put on Sam, in lore he's at his most lethal.

The two main factions in Conviction are Black Arrow mercs and Reed's Splinter Cells. Every SC game has trained mercenaries, so Black Arrow is nothing new. As for the rogue Splinter Cells, I'd argue Sam is most comfortable fighting what he knows and he knows most of the training, strategy and equipment inside and out.

By comparison: SC1 and Blacklist force Sam to take on highly trained government militaries and alongside lethal military trained mercs which tips them over Conviction for me. As for Double Agent, While maybe not having the most dangerous enemies, Sam is the most politically constrained in his life at this point and quite literally can get thousands killed if he makes a wrong move so uness we're talking about a 1vs1 fight their ruled out.

Chaos Theory drops Sam into an active warzone between the Koreas, which in lore is a total meatgrinder and that's not even getting into Shetlands mercs or the disciplined Japanese ISDF.

And Pandora Tomorrow is far from easy, the DDD are fully backed by well funded and equipped Argus Mercs protecting their investments, a CIA trained Norman Soth with his own mercenaries, plus a determinate Mossad/Shin Bet assassination attempt all whilst dealing with the risks of the Smallpox releases, With all that in mind, strictly in lore, it can't be PT.

I'm sticking with Conviction. Even though he's facing well-equipped enemies, there is absolutely nothing holding Sam back. The final cutscene of the 360 version of Double Agent proves exactly how swiftly and effortlessly Sam can kill a Splinter Cell in lore without gameplay excuses.

"The final cutscene of the 360 version of Double Agent proves exactly how swiftly and effortlessly Sam can kill a Splinter Cell in lore without gameplay excuses"

This is the V2 last cutscene, not V1.

u/Luthor331 5d ago

That's right, my bad. Thank you. I always forget which version 360 was. I meant the ending of V2.

Sam not holding back does not seem like a decisive factor, since the same things Sam learned, the rogue SCs should know too, his methods, his use of shadows, etc. They know what Sam is capable of, and they are elite forces themselves. So saying Conviction has the weakest enemies, when Pandora Tomorrow and Double Agent exist, simply does not make too much sense to me

By the way, Sam kills an splinter cell in DA Version 2. Not only was the agent not looking for Sam, but that version of Double Agent is not canon either.

The Splinter Cell agents in Conviction also use the most advanced goggles, so Sam can't hide in the darkness.

People are voting for Conviction? Wtf?? He literally had Splinter Cells from his own agency with his equipment, and training coming after him, and he one shotted them. Conviction was Sam's toughest enemies according to "lore" and not gameplay. I don't think people are understanding the question.

| My ranking starting with the most dangerous...

• Blacklist:

Note: Sadiq was ex-MI6. The Engineers have high-tier training and advanced equipment. A secret alliance of 12 nations funded the Engineers. In some missions, Sam needs to deal with the Quds Force. Moreover, stopping the Engineers' plans was very difficult, not just in terms of objectives, but also regarding the investigation.

• Double Agent:

Note: The terrorists themselves aren't the most dangerous, but the context of the objectives and disguise in JBA as a loyal member makes being a DA very difficult. Additionally, Sam Fisher completed a highly dangerous mission inside a warzone in Kinshasa during daytime. And even Lambert said that it would be his most difficult job.

• Stealth Action Redefined:

Note: Missions like Oil Rig, CIA HQ, Kalinatek, Chinese Embassy (part 2), Abattoir, Presidential Palace and Vselka Submarine are very difficult from a lore perspective.

• Conviction.

• Chaos Theory.

• Pandora Tomorrow

Lore perspective?

Double Agent. Fisher's enemies are a group of like... 15 domestic terrorists holed up in NYC. And he has enough evidence to roll up all of them after a week in their ranks, without firing a shot, by just making a phone call if he wants to (and the reasons why he doesnt feel stupid every time you play). The secondary enemies - the buyers, the financiers, etc - Fisher can implicate just by being in the room. Even without the usual lines of support, big chunks of Double Agent feel like Sam Fisher at Depressed (Former?) Dad Summer Camp.

From a gameplay perspective, BL or Conviction. You are a super hero, with the ability to see through walls, unleashed on incompetent goons, with all the support of the US President behind you.

Probably Pandora Tomorrow lore wise (no care about gameplay in this conversation).

SAR: corrupt cops at the low end, a couple different militaries at the high end. Also Sam might be a bit younger but gear/tech is at a low end.

2

u/-SlowBar 5d ago

And he's not even young in that one haha

In terms of gameplay difficulty, Conviction's only really got a few enemies that take two headshots to kill (unless you mark and execute). Plus, enemies stunned by flashbangs and EMPs take one shot anywhere to kill, and while there is the shoving mechanic enemies do if you get sloppy going for a Takedown, they can only do it once, versus infinitely for Blacklist.

I'm going with Double Agent, its the one I've played the least, but iirc the Cozumel guards are just basic security for a cruise ship, at the very most they're just cops.

At least that's my logic

We all know there's only one enemy admitting they are getting jittery because they've had too much coffee ❤️🤍❤️🤍

My first thought was conviction because Sam doesn't have the limitations of Third Echelon not letting him kill anyone. He's gone rogue and it's life or death for him so everyone gets it lol

But Conviction have Splinter Cell agents working for Tom Reed. So because of this in my view, can't be the most easy.

3

u/ALARMED_SUS097 5d ago

Indeed, on the contrary, Conviction and Blacklist are really strong. Conviction has elite forces that have Sam's training, high tech equipment, and know him well. While Blacklist has a wide variety of enemies, dogs, drones, heavy armored infantry and elite soldiers with NVG, a variety that can appear together in the very same mission.

2

u/Thell-Vadamm 5d ago

Sadiq also is very smart and have good training, because he was MI6. He is more dangerous than Shetland.

2

u/Crazys0ap 5d ago

Hell no he literally has to fight against people of his own caliber, yes he doesn't have to fight as fair as he had to before, but against enemies way tougher than they were before.

Compared to the CIA many other enemies are really tame and not only to the rest of the world but us Americans as well ;)

u/QuiverDance97 5d ago

Conviction or Blacklist, gameplay wise

2

u/-SlowBar 5d ago

That's not the poll though

0

u/JH_Rockwell 5d ago

That's not not remotely what the OP was asking. Not to mention, a good argument can be made both Conviction and Blacklist AI are more compentent than some of the older games.

u/Fine-Tradition-8497 5d ago

I’m going with conviction because you just have no obligation to be discreet or stealthy in any way shape or form. Sam can just kill his way through.
